I wouldn't mind another ATB/ turn based entry but to be honest nowadays I highly prefer a system where I can actively and freely control a character in a 3D room and by pressing a button instantly swing my sword/axe/whatever. Just something that feels natural instead of choosing commands in a menu and waiting a minute for the result or those "MMO like" combat systems as in Xenoblade or FF XII.

That's one reason why I'm so excited for versus XIII/XV for all these years. Finally a Final Fantasy where I can "really" control my character.

There is nothing to worry about. Tabata mention in an interview that he is sure another director will use ATB in Final Fantasy again, he considered it for FFXV but decided not to for the style of which FFXV is. That actually have me quite excited! We could be getting Action RPG and Tradition Turn Based RPG's. I love both types, I just get disappointed when I see people bash one over the other, especially turn based since it's basically what founded JRPG's.
Agree. I like both system. I would add that even if turnbase was the "founder" of JRPG is by no means the only thing that defines it. Also bashing one to another is not good, though i'd argue that Action RPG is the one that gets the more bashing(in JRPG) and turnbase the one that gets the more overglorification.
Question: is this still a FFXV news thread ? (LOL)

A little bit of discussion on the news topic is fine. We're talking about the status of the game with outsourcing and what not and the game's vision. I think it's okay to deviate a little off topic as long as it's somewhat related.

Haha! The posts I see usually happen like someone asks for announcement to be a traditional RPG or that the next FF be ATB based. They get their likes yes, but there usually is some who says something rude like "Turn-based is lame, Action is where it's at" they get far more likes (people agreeing). Once I thought to say that both are very good Action and Turn Based. I got a few votes, but there next comment bashing turnbased had more who agree. This specific conversation that included me was on Siliconera I believe.

Anyone post these yet? An interesting watch for sure. Although, not much game info is revealed.

I always like watching interviews for FFXV they seem excited and like nice people. :)

Tabata interview from Taipai game show (chinese):
http://t.co/VOMKSpyxpN

Some XV related news ( google translator doesn't give guarantee on accuracy):
- We will know if Cidney is the Cid of the game once we've played Episode Duscae
- Tabata on possible sequels (google translator, so the sentence doesn't make any sense xD):..." it will not be a sequel uncertain, but the team hopes will heavily focus first on Final Fantasy XV", wanted to put all the contents are added to the list."
- They're currently testing some online functionalities but he couldn't go into detail yet.

There's also some old info about fan feedback and other stuff but it's not that interesting and the google transator makes it hard to understand. xD

I really love how Tabata said: if Dragon Quest is the king, then Final Fantasy is the strongest (in Japan, of course).
One thing which came to mind was One Piece, since Gol D. Roger was the king, and Whitebeard was the strongest (past tense, since they're both dead).
