But, it's definitely easy to see a scenario where they clearly dont' have all the info. And the proof that TheGuy isn't a dev but was just given information (information he believes is fake at that) is actually as close to proof as it gets that the rest of the info may be unreliable.
The leaks all said Ardyn, but I'm totally seeing Ravus in the face. Not to mention what looks like might be a messed up left arm... Then again, Ardyn's left arm is pretty fucked up too, but that's more his fashion sense. With the clips of Ardyn being the one getting the bros to go see all the Archaeans, that really just doens't fit in with any leaks anywhere. If Ardyn is the final boss, why would he be guiding you towards collecting the only thing that can help you defeat him? I suppose it's not impossible it's a trap to lure them all out or something, but I dunno, seems weak.

The more I think about it, the more I believe that the leakers (at least some of them) were just people who happened to know some guy at SE/E3/Gamescom/whatever and got second-hand info about what they were preparing for these events (Titan Trial, Chapter 0). There are a lot of people working closely to something like this: people at S-E (both devs, external workers and PRs), at the events' organization comittees, at the press... So yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if they only got the things related to the events (basically the demos) and made up the rest using their informed situation as, I assume, fans/ex-fans.
But tbh I've only read those details related to development or gameplay mechanics (beyond a few story spoilers I couldn't avoid as I didn't know "leaks" had happened). So I don't really know if they got more things right.
Anyways, be careful and fuck reading them. I will gladly do it when I finish the game to see if they were legit or not. Fake or not, I love speculation and reading the bullshit some people make up.

Don't worry, you probably read one of the leaks that got a fundamental aspect of the game incorrect, like the guy who claimed you couldn't use guns in the build of the game he had when the preview build sent out to the press had them readily mentioned. Gotta love a leaker who can't even keep up with the current news.

I read the one that talked about Chapter 0 and its timeline, as well as who would be the final guy and some things regarding him that I wouldn't have liked reading lol. I was lurking GAF and didn't know there were actually leaks out, so I, like usually, hovered over the spoiler bars and well, bam.
It sucks, but yeah, on the off chance they're legit, I'm not really that bummed. It's weird, because this is my most anticipated game of all time (10. Years), but I felt like shit after reading a twat on Twitter giving away a particular thing about Uncharted 4's ending (pic included), whereas with this... well, let's see.

Final Fantasy has such a grand, sprawling story structure that it's just as much about the journey as anything else and the leaks on that were so lacking in specificity that I'm hopeful even if they're one hundred percent true nothing's really been ruined.

Yup, I was actually going to say that: as an RPG, the story is much grander than what can be summarized in just a few bullepoints, and as you said, the journey is the important part.
As in, I couldn't really say that, I don't know, FF IX has one of the best stories I've experienced because I'd be lying. It's a pretty simple, straight-foward one, but it's one that I've enjoyed greatly and its charm makes it one of my favourite ones because of how everything happens: how things slowly unfold, how characters interact. what the locations look like and how the music and the gameplay integrate into the story, the sidelines or subplots, the pacing... There's that magic that you don't get with games with arguable better stories/script. If XV has that, I'm going to be very happy.

BTW, has anyone noticed that Noctis' clothes in Chapter 0 are completely mirroring Regis'? The shoulder pad and, especially noticeable, the leg thingy. It's weird. Unless it's an stylistic choice or something (the leg thing is the one I'm wondering about: in Regis' case, it seems to be because of his injury. What are the chances Noctis suffers from the same kind of injury (this soon, as he looks younger than Regis -although that might have nothing to do with it-) in the opposite leg?
Watch it be something provisional, an stylistic choice to differentiate both of them or a just a mistake lol.

Oh, I didn't it was a theory. And it's not my theory anyways, just "fear" that they might take away a character design I actually love, lol. I just thought they could do a bait and switch thing, but I really doubt it, all things considered. The costume being a mirror is interesting, though!
