Those in the know say it's a hybrid with home console branding.

So look at it as a portable home console instead of a handheld with TV out.

An insider says that the next Beyond Good and Evil will be a platform exclusive partial reboot. If that's true, Ubisoft probably got some funding help for it from Nintendo. There's also supposed to be a trailer for some kind of NX-dedicated Nin Direct.

Wow, that's some big international names there.

Square Enix is expected, as they already said they were developing at Dragon Quest X port for the new Nintendo system, but wondering if they'll also have an original product. Atlus, Grasshopper and Tokyo RPG Factory were surprises this soon. I'm really excited to see what Ubisoft has in store. Intrigued by what will come from PlatinumGames and FromSoftware will have in store. Dreading with all my heart what Konami will have in store.

I effing love this.

The concept is something I've wanted for years now - a home console that can be played on the go with all your settings intact. The last device to do that were the PSP with its TV plug (still requiring to use the PSP proper as a controller and charge it) and the OG XBox 360 with a swapable HDD (requiring... well, the purchase of a second 360). This is the evolution of just that - and I love that unlike the competition with their focus on actual gimmickry like VR and money pits like 4K HDR TVs, this is as pure and direct a gaming system as it gets.

The name is also great - no complex philosophy like with the Wii U that needs long-winded explanation, just something you take a brief look at and GET IT.

Going to get it Day One and probably a second TV Dock right away so both my place and my parent's place (which I still regularly visit) are set for playing. This is what I want The Future Of Gamingto be.

Overall, I really like the idea of a home console you can take and play on the go, but I feel a bit mixed on some details. Like those mini-gamepads don't seem very comfortable. And the whole thing is too big to work well as a portable device. Not sure if I'll be getting it day one, I need to know the price first.

I´m really curious if this hardware will be capable of running juggernauts of softwares on the level of FFXV, Uncharted 4, Battlefield 1, Witcher 3 and more.
Suppose to be weaker than XB1 so if anything, those types of titles will have to be scaled down. Nintendo Switch isn't designed to compete head on with Sony and Microsoft.

I'm hoping they follow what they seem to be aiming for with surrendering power for a positive playing experience. The Wii U lineup has hardly been entusing when compared to the DS/3DS, N63 or GameCube.

Well, I'm sold. This is pretty much exactly what I want from Nintendo's next system. No stupid gimmicks - just gaming. And I love that I can now just purchase one Nintendo console to cover home and portable. I'm hopeful that, since it is cartridge based, it'll be backwards compatible. As a handheld, I think think 900p on a tablet sized screen with traditional sticks and buttons is awesome. And as someone who isn't a graphics whore, it's perfectly acceptable to me as a home-console, especially since they'll have a pro controller available right out of the gate. One of my biggest worries was whether or not I'd be forced to use only the detachable controller(s) all the time. I always did like being able to play WiiU games in bed or whatever via the GamePad, but it was severely limited. It's nice to see I'll be able to continue that on the Switch to a much higher degree of quality. All that's left now is to see if it'll support GameCube controllers for Super Smash Bros Switch.

The system seems to be off to a decent start third-party game wise, but I personally don't care much about that other than the fact that it would be nice to see more than just hardcore Nintendo fans buy it. I've gotten to the point where I have no expectations from a Nintendo console on that front. If the third-party support continues, great. If not, fine. I have a PS4 or even an X1 for those needs.

Best thing from the reveal trailer to me was what appears to be a new, truly 3D Mario title.
