Just thought I'd create a separate thread to discuss this stuff openly.

This includes speculation over future updates and storylines for the DLC that aren't out yet, as well as discussion regarding the DLC and updates that are already out (these must be put in spoiler tags)

Playing the chp13 Gladio update at the moment and I wanted to share some stuff without derailing other threads.

Will update once I'm done.

Just finished the chp13 update scenario as Gladio.

It's pretty short but I must say, I quite enjoyed being able to play as Gladio.

Obviously he's a hard hitting character, but every attack that connects feel oddly satisfying for some reason. I also like how you have to alternate between attack and defence, and you have to be quick with your reflexes to block properly.

Pretty fun stuff.

@Ikkin Your hope over how the story patches can be filled in was done exactly as how you said.

Now we just wait for Episode Prompto to learn about Niflheim in depth.

Seems to me like Iedolas lost his sanity quite awhile ago and is just a puppet for Ardyn to fuck around with.

Makes sense as to why he went from a benevolent ruler as described in a loading screen in the main game, to a power hungry dictator.

Also.... asshole "Noctis" was quite fun to see. Wouldn't mind seeing more stuff like that xD

Ray Chase's voice acting was on it at that part.

Arydn was very patronising as always lol

I kinda got a bit excited when it said "Episode Gladio - Available NOW" after I finished the scenario and thought there must've been a welcome mistake.

Tried to search for it but it's not out yet, so gotta wait until tomorrow.

I'm hoping Ignis episode will cover his training to learn how to get around again. I do like how Gladio plays out. I still had assumed originally that his swinging would be a lot slower, but I also had to remind myself that I'm not using the jack of all trades Noct anymore that did have that drawback with greatswords.

Yeah there were times that I pressed triangle to warp strike and had to remind myself Gladio ain't Noctis.

Is it just me, or did they improve the animation for Ignis?

He walks more cautiously than I remembered him doing so in the later chapters of the main game.

I personally couldn't tell any difference. Sometimes Ignis. moves very cautiously, sometimes gets lost, and sometimes moves very quickly.

That new cutscene with Ravus is cool, but i expected more of stuff like that.
Yeah I really liked that scene too.

Although my favourite part was
Noctis sounding evil and mimicking Ardyn's swanky walk.

That was all kinds of awesome.

I think the Gladio perspective as it is, is fitting and doesn't need more. Episode Prompto should be able to expand more on what happens in Gralea.

The thing to remember is Gladio and Ignis are in a hurry to find Noctis, so it wouldn't make sense for them to drag this out too long.

Considering the state that they found Noctis in for the main game, it's a good thing the pair didn't dawdle.

It seemed like Ignis was feeling around more when walking in the update.

In the main game, I stopped and waited for Ignis in ch10 so I got a good chance to observe how he moved (I honestly thought Id' fail the game or miss something if I left him - which was true: dialogue and character interaction animation)

Before this version, I've never ever liked this track. Now, I wish they'd done something like this to it long before this.

UPDATE: Arg, I've found a new tune for all to admire!

would be cool if with each episode dlc they updated the game with free content like chapter 13-2

they will probably do this since it also helps to promote the dlcs with gameplay segments

Oh, I see now. You're comparing Ch. 10 Ignis to Ch. 13 Ignis. Ignis is at his worst mobility wise in Ch. 10. He tends to lose his balance quit often in Ch. 10.
