I think they did already. I don't think for example the first of two final bosses is effected by the ring.
I insta killed Ifrit with Alterna. Shiva instantly appeared and gave him the kiss of death.

Death drains Ifrit and Ardyn and turns them into anorexic sticks. Although I haven't successfully beaten Ardyn with Alterna so I think only he is immune to it.

It's something that's unavoidable. Between the development hell, the long wait, and all the changes that took place, I am content with the situation. If any of those other games were constantly being brought up for years and years with no release date in sight, they probably wouldn't have been received as well vocally.
True.

Thing is, this is only the beginning for FFXV since they still have so much left to give to regain trust and make things right.

Which is why they need to keep people engaged so that they stay interested long enough to experience the upcoming content.

If they let it go for too long, people would get too lazy to swap out their discs to play FFXV again. Convincing people to stop playing Persona 5 to play Episode Prompto could prove difficult if they don't stay in the forefront of people's minds.

So the ring doesn't work on everything after all.
Thanks for letting me how your experience with the ring is. I'll have to go back and see if it's still the same when I get time away from Automata. I do agree with you that a steady flow of content is important, because the saying "out of sight, out of mind" holds quite a bit of truth.

SQEX has been pushing to regain player trust in the entire FF series since 2010, when XIII undermined (in most people's opinions, not necessarily mine) and the original XIV completely tarnished the FF brand. Both Yoshida and Tabata said it would be an uphill slog.

Yeah they've both definitely worked very hard, and it's a battle I want them to win.

All the more reason for regular content and PR moves. The other games are definitely taking over with a vengeance, especially Persona 5 (which is a fantastic game in its own right)

Is the CEO boss fight coming back I wonder? Nier just recently announced that in the Colosseum their will be a fight with both CEOs of both Square and Platinum.

Hopefully by 2020 it will be better, with the ff7 remake ff16 and the The Dark Fantasy trilogy. ff7 remake looks to be in good hands with Nomura, lets hope Ito get 16 and not Toriyama, and of the dark fantasy trilogy may be a just a dream but it would be amazing if it was true.

I've heard nothing of this dark fantasy. For now, I think it would be best to focus on things that have been announced to the public (e.g. KHIII and FFVII:R).

(sigh) I think it means that lost - or rather resurrected - but still completely speculative project we're strictly forbidden to talk about by name outside a particular thread. I think I'm pushing the boundaries just mentioning it this obliquely.
Oh that. They will move on at some point in time. There are more pressing matters on the table at this point.

Both of which are being handled by Nomura, which is a little scary after FFXV and the wait we're still going through for KHIII

Forgot the on topic part: Is there a reason they stopped with the active hunts? I haven't played since Behemoth, 1 because of Uni work, and 2 because I haven't really felt the need to go back and play it since I finished the story (Except for the timed quests).

I feel like those 2 reasons are a really good example of why they should keep them consistent. They NEED to keep player interest IMO so not so big fans keep up to date and engaged in the game.

The fact that's just on two projects should be counted as a blessing. During the last generation, I'm pretty sure he ended up on four or five concurrently in the roles of character designer/director/creative director/writer. Basically he was worked over capacity as SQEX's "top talent" in my opinion. Just focusing on two big projects is actually fairly tame compared to his seventh gen workload.

They probably didn't plan out regular timed hunts, and on top of that they're almost certainly quite busy. They've got Episodes Prompto and Ignis, the multiplayer, the VR content, the power suits, and the mysterious "unannounced awesome expansion" they teased in January. Not to mention they might follow up on their hint and deliver an Episode Ardyn. Yep, pretty busy.

Apearently the supposed "unnanounced expansion" was probably refered to the episodes DLC and the VR stuff.

Hmmm. I know nothing detailed about game development, but how difficult could it be to take 1 of the enemies, give them a higher level and but their damage or defense or something a bit more? Even fortnightly would be good. It feels weird for them to release a feature and then not keep it going consistently.

I see your point. I'm still worried. I think it'll take this E3 to settle that a little. Show us the progress on KHIII, show us some gameplay and then give us a time frame for a release date. I don't want all the shenanigans that happened with FFXV's release date for KHIII as well.

kinda dissapointed there's no higher difficulty planned, but i'm glad they recognize the interest in the mentioned characters for future dlcs.

aranea is secondary so i believe she might feature in someone else's dlc, like cor. Ardyn and Luna are the top priority in my book (Ravus could also be featured in Luna's dlc, he doesn't need one focused on him imo).

This is very interesting. They could ideally use the structure format currently for the other characters if need be. Now it is Gladio > Prompto > Ignis with each follow up being less combat focused, but more story impacting to trade off. So instead it would be Aranea > Lunafreya > Ardyn with the same format.

Somebody let me know if that is a poor suggestion to make.
