Surprised they didn't have any plans for the difficulty setting tbh. I have a feeling by their next survey, it's going to get on their to do list.

Tri monthly major updates and "updates that will delve deeper into the events of the game." Very vague, but I guess we're going to have to wait and see.

I can only think of one of two scenarios to explain the vagueness:

1) they're still working stuff out

2) they've already got a plan on what to do but are keeping quiet to avoid development debacle when making changes.

Thanks for the share @Lulcielid

I still really cannot see the point of a Luna focused DLC in her current state. They'd be better off inserting additional cutscenes with her in the base game. However, it would present an interesting challenge for the dev team to pull off. To actually create and design an engaging, enjoyable, exciting DLC scenario surrounding Luna would be a commendable achievement. It would be one time where I wouldn't mind being proven wrong.

Details from Gematsu:

Square Enix will release a new Final Fantasy XV update on April 27, adding a new PlayStation 4 Pro mode, Timed Quest ranking feature, and more.

Here is the list of changes:

  • New “Stable Mode” added to the PlayStation 4 Pro resolution options. With this mode, you can comfortably enjoy playing the game with a stable frame rate.
  • Subtitles, as well as some menu screen text sizes have been enlarged.
  • Timed Quests will start up again, and a new ranking feature has been added. You can get a wonderful weapon as an initial reward.
  • New car stickers added for Regalia customization.
  • New songs added to the music player.

That comment section though....For something that some people didn't enjoy, I never did understand the logic of talking it down every chance some get.
I don't understand people who click on, read , follow, watch, play, and comment on something that they clearly don't like. It's such a waste of one's time that could've been better spent indulging in something you actually enjoy.

He doesn't look happy in that photo. I guess he's just taking it all in stride.
He and his team worked hard to salvage an originally dire project for 3 solid, strenuous, and difficult years only to be met with toxic bashing and hate comments on the web.

I'd be extremely tired and wishing for something new too.

I've never seen a game that was bashed to death as much as FFXV.

It wouldn't surprise me if he's still going balls deep with FFXV putting in a ton of hours into the project each day. I know some people won't care about something like that, but I do. He's still a person at the end of the day.
Same. I can't even imagine what he's going through mentally. He seems exhausted.

Do you think the situation is worse than what it was with XIII in the past? If so, do we have to wait for a few mainline numbers to come out in order to have reception on the overall be more fair on the internet?

I wasn't frequenting gaming forums back then so I honestly wouldn't know. Anyone here during that time? Could you clarify which is worse?

My guess is FFXV is worse because of the 10 year wait, the marketing/trailer controversies (expectations and whatnot), story patches, DLC, development issues, combat, open world etc etc

It's a massive target for hate and intense scrutiny.

Eh, what XIII got was far worse. XV's may appear very vocal right now (the 10 year wait didn't help lol), but the game definitely has a greater amount of people who have genuinely enjoyed it.

I'd say reception is much more closer to XII than XIII from my perspective, where you have a sizable group who really like it as well as some loud bunch that don't. Even the most beloved FF titles like VII & X get a fair amount of detractors, its inescapable.

Aye. I will say though that it seems FFXV is getting better received than even XII since I"m not really seeing the comment of "under-rated" with FFXV unlike with FFXII. On a personal level, XII falls in the middle for me without doing enough one way or another for me to downright say I like or dislike it.

Jeez I can only imagine what the comments were like back then for those games...

Well.. it's good that the situation isn't as bad as I thought it was for FFXV then.

FFXII gets the "under-rated" comments that it does because it's old enough that latecomers are questioning its initial reception. It's definitely possible that FFXV will end up with a similar reputation in 2026.
