Oh crap new locations, I wonder if Insomnia will be one of them or more of Nifhiem or dare I say more of Tenabre.

The new magic looks great. I see some new locations too.

Thing is, I'd still rather play as the offical characters than self made avatar ones. I've never been good at customising anything lol.

I wonder will all the new features available in multiplayer will be transferred to the actual game itself somewhere down the line?

Are they actually new locations? They look more like deteriorated parts of lucis to me. During the 10 year timeskip
The 2nd image with the behemoths doesn't look familiar to me at all.

Of course if that is an actual location in the current game then I'm fine with admitting I'm wrong.

Can't pinpoint where it is though.

it seems like World of Ruin for sure, but since noctis and the others will be playable too i'm not sure; also how the hunters/glaives can use magic now?

dlc looks good.

edit: giving that they're adding new magics and costumes to multiplayer, i wouldn't be surprised if they could be eventually used in the main game; i always wanted to use the magitek soldier's gear and we can in Comrades:

i think all in all, this will be a fun addition to FFXV.

Now the question is, will they translate that feature to the main game or will remain multi-player only?
It better be the former. Or else I suspect there's going to be even more fan backlash than before. I mean, that NC comment section speaks for itself. I personally wouldn't be impressed either if this revamped and traditional magic system stayed multiplayer only.

There is probably going to be backlash either way this goes. Let's play out your scenario for a sec. Let's say BD2 did actually change the magic system within the core FFXV experience. There becomes the issue of early FFXV adopters playing a game different from what they had remembered. That will be a mixed bag in itself. Some would welcome the change, while others are going to be put off by it. While this has already taken place in other aspects, (e.g. ring buff) changing too much of the core experience from how it originally was could turn out to be a larger detriment for the early FFXV adopters at least.

This isn't to say that I'm against magic being changed in the core experience, because I am more neutral on the topic. I'm just providing an uneducated opinion on a possible situation playing out.

Nice little distraction here, but still related to general XV reactions and news. FF Union have done quantification on surveys related to XV. Apparently the overall figures indicate that XV appealed far more to newcomers to the series than veterans. Of course, this survey is just a part of the series fanbase and those who bought and played the game. Basically...

Music - Great all round with minor variations.
Gameplay - Great response from Newcomers, mixed from Veterans General dislike for the difficulty curve and tutorials.
Story - Basic stuff was alright, but presentation was generally faulted. Newcomers were more forgiving, but still critical.
Voice acting - Newcomers liked it more than Veterans.
Characters - Newcomers cited them as the main reason they invested, while veterans weren't impressed. And, divine justice, Gladiolus is still the least-liked character with both groups, with Ignis and then Prompto coming out on top.
Graphics and Artistic design - Substantial draw for Newcomers over Veterans.
A lot of newcomers invested due to good word of mouth. And finally, XV got people hugely more excited for the next mainline FF title.

So generally XV's succeeded in its intended goal of bringing more players into the FF franchise. It's still got support from series veterans, while newcomers are being drawn in by the score. So regardless of my own personal niggles with the final product (which truly have nothing to do with its origins), it seems my feelings are being mirrored; it's a good game that's got me expectant for the next mainline FF title.

The veteran thing doesn't surprise me too much given how diverse the hardcore side of the FF fandom are in impressions & other elements unique to XV.

Overall, nice to see a healthy set of newcomers obtained as an audience.
