I personally wouldn't get too hung up on that "leak", especially when among the rest of the other content that didn't end up happening, the part with...:
fighting against Ravus & Caligo (despite the latter technically being confirmed)
...on the episode's description from the rumor is already off the mark.

Otherwise, i feel that seeing the entire episode should paint a clearer picture.

this one, seems he's an insider that mixed some truth with a lot of bullshit

or he guessed right lol
Yeah about that. Two possible scenarios here:

a) The team were still making changes to the story, so that info was correct at the time of him reporting it
b) That guy guessed it right like you said with crap mixed in lol

Watch and listen closely from 1:45 to 2:22.
Ah I see where they are going with this.

Also found this over at GFaqs.

From the FFXV Facebook post:

"With Altissia in ruins after the Trial of Leviathan, Ignis faces the Niflheim Empire to protect Noctis at all costs.

Joining him along the way is Ravus, high commander of the Niflheim Empire, who is determined to rescue his sister Lunafreya.

Featuring fast-paced battles and multiple endings, it is finally time to learn about the untold events that transpired during one of the most dramatic moments in Final Fantasy XV."

Here’s a list of the leaks that have yet to be proven.

https://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/932981-final-fantasy-xv/75937676

For what it’s worth, even if they’re leaks and could not be true, they do sound pretty good.

Very excited about Ep. Ignis but I wish they left out how he became
blind

I think that would’ve been best left to us finding out when we actually played it.

Here is the Japanese version of the trailer in case anyone was interested.

I've got to say, the main art for this DLC is pretty good (the image with Ravus carrying Luna and Ignis helping Noctis I mean)

I was thinking to myself, "Damn Ignis sounds like Yagami Light here", but then I remembered his VA was Miyano. That yell at the end =O

The trailer is ambiguous...
The trailer doesn't make clear if Ardyn's magic or the Ring are the cause of his blindness.
It doesn't seem ambiguous to me tbh. I guess we'll just have to play to find out for sure.

Still, even featuring him
putting on the ring
was pretty telling and should've been excluded imo.

It could just be me, but I'm noticing that trailers nowadays (for movies, games, etc) are pretty spoilery in that they're always showing the end scenes for some reason.

Something else technically was confirmed as well. The leaker here specifies 4 new DLC; Ardyn, Luna, and 2 unnamed ones. Tabata said in one of his interviews at TGS or the ATR there (I can't remember which) that they could dedicate time to at most 4 DLC's worth of content.

Now I know how PR business works, it's likely, even though he says otherwise, that lots of this content had been planned from the beginning or months ago. SE likely gave him the green light to do more DLC and content in 2018 back after they got proper sales, not in September like he says. I'm just saying, especially since it makes it sound nice if they say the fans are what kept the game going.

ALSO, keep in mind that this 9 month old leak is guessing Ardyn and Luna DLC's over anything else, 2 things that Tabata has said is interested in doing now more than ever and likely will do. This was before the DLC poll was even made.

Just my 2 cents on that. I'm just keeping an open mind since this is the same way the entirety of FFXV's plot was leaked almost 10 months before release.

Edit: it also technically leaked comrades too... we didn't know anything about comrades at that point

So am more inclined to believe that this leak is true than not.

I guess the best way to sum this up is to keep an open mind and just be excited for what's to come.

It's partly a good thing that we don't know what's coming next year because this will give the dev team time to really plan things out without fan expectations weighing them down.

Leaks and speculations are always fun to read. I wonder if more of the "leaks" are going to come to fruition for curiosity's sake?

I agree. I definitely have seen this leak before (not the post made a few months ago on this site, but it's the same) with some other things that have come true already (the regalia type d, the bestiary, the multi hunt update which we haven't gotten yet and more I don't remember) so that's why I feel like I believe it more than most. 9 months is a pretty long time, but the fact that a previous leak did almost the exact same thing for the base game in the same time frame and was almost entirely right is what gets me.

Definitely keeping an open mind though. I've waited a long time to actually start this game for real and on this leak is pretty hype so you definitely have to stay reserved haha. Hopefully it gets proven or at least resolved in a few weeks if a roadmap is still supposed to come through!

It’s an interesting combination of some of the things coming true, and others being false.

It makes me wonder was that due to rewrites or trolling?

Yeah it’s a bit mind boggling that something leaked so long ago is still relevant today (some parts of it at least)

Perhaps the Episode Luna and Ardyn stuff isn’t so far fetched. I mean they sound pretty great.

Seeing Noctis and Luna sneaking out to meet up would be a touching scene.

It could be possible that while everything was planned that long ago, lots of things get shuffle around and repurposed or scrapped.

For example, having a playable prompto section in the main story may have been true at one point, but they may have decided to put resources elsewhere.

Same with all the multiplayer stuff. Initially it could have been their big plan to expand Nifleheim, but time and contraints could have forced them to make Comrades in Lucis. Perhaps Comrades gets updates into 2018 as it is directed by someone other than Tabata and some of those things can happen.

Obviously it could all just be a lie as well with a few extremely well placed guesses. The only reason why I'm inclined to believe FFXV leaks more than others is because several of them have turned out to be true the past 2 years. But this one can always be wrong as well (for the most part)

Gameplay for the FFXV Monster's of the Deep VR, narrated by Rob and Holly over at PS Access.

This honestly looks quite fun since fishing was one of the best things in FFXV. So there's a story mode where we meet the whole gang early on in the game and we get to fish and camp with them.

The character creation and customization has a lot of depth to it too apparently.

I'm still hung up and excited about Episode Ignis and the Altissia invasion, and how much it looks close to the Altissia segment in the E3 2013 trailer, I feel that is the closest we'll get to that segment, I've wanted the Altissia invasion in a similar style to the E3 2013's Altissia segment, and now we're getting it, I'm in the time of my life right now. I think I can forgive the Leviathan battle now, thanks to Episode Ignis. I can't wait for December 13.

For those of you who are looking forward to Episode Ignis as much as I am, do you think:

a) we're going to see kid Ignis?

b) they're going to add an update that is similar to Ch13 V2, but for Altissia specifically?

c) We're going to have a "hub" area similar to that in Episode Prompto where we can camp and then go out to do extra side quests?

d) we're going to get an extra costume for Ignis

e) we're going to get a "trial mode" with Ravus

I'm estimating that the total playtime for the dlc would be around... 2-3 hours?

a) Perhaps?
b) I'll say no, simply because they are not promoting that kind of adition (as of now).
c) I think the episode will only cover from the inmediate aftermatch of Leviathan fight to Ignis rescueing Noctis, which all will happen on the same day. So I see no room for Ignis to go take a break on a "hub" and do extra quest considering Niflheim is still attacking the city.
d) Maybe.
e) I don't think so.

Yeah it’d be hard to have a hub area for side quests under these circumstances.

I’m wondering if his new hairstyle is going to be the “costume” ?

As for whether we’ll have a mode to fight with Ravus as we did with Cor and Aranea, I’d say we would get something like that.

HAJIME TABATA: Hey did you read this story online that says I'm bringing Final Fantasy XV to Switch, using Unreal Engine?

GAMEREVOLUTION: NO, I DIDN'T. IS THAT TRUE?

TABATA: No.

GR: CAN THE SWITCH EVEN RUN FINAL FANTASY XV?

TABATA: No, it can't.

rekt lol

GR: FINAL FANTASY XV IS MULTIPLAYER NOW. I DIDN'T EXPECT THAT. DID THE TEAM?

TABATA: Not from the start, no. We had an idea that it might be nice, but, no.... We decided just after we released or just before, I can't remember exactly, but it was around that time. Then we split the team up into various other teams, like for DLC and expanding the game and so on. And then we decided, yeah, we're going to try and make this a reality; we're going to try to do multiplayer.

GR: WHEN EXACTLY WAS THAT DECISION MADE?

TABATA: Between autumn and winter of last year. Development started after the release of the main game. Planning stages started a little bit more.

GR: BUT ABOUT HOW MUCH OF THAT [Versus XIII] ACTUALLY CARRIED OVER INTO FFXV?

TABATA: Hard to say. Versus XIII was never a complete game, so you can't really measure it. The things I really wanted to carry over were characters and world it was set in.

The technical base for the two games was very different. Rather than say, "How can we convert what we have of Versus XIII into XV," and what was important was keeping the stuff we really wanted to keep from Versus and reassessing it as what would work and what has to be there for it to be a proper numbered Final Fantasy game.

GR: SO YOU'D PREFER TO START A NEW PROJECT, BUT HOW BUSY ARE YOU WITH FINAL FANTASY XV DLC AND THINGS? WHEN WOULD A NEW PROJECT START?

TABATA: It's already started.

GR: REALLY?

TABATA: Yes.

GR: WHAT CAN YOU TELL ME ABOUT IT?

TABATA: Well of course I can't tell you anything right now.

*Everyone laughs except Square Enix USA PR, whose pulse I assume has gone way above 200bpm*

TABATA: FFXV is important, so it's obvious that it takes up some of my time. The plan we had for FFXV DLC ran up till the end of this year. We didn't have a plan for next year.

But now, we've extended that. We're gonna carry on with that service model, FFXV will continue on to the end of next year.

GR: YOU MEAN WITH NEW DLC?

TABATA: More new DLC and things that tie in to story of the main game, too. It'll be stuff that helps satisfy and excite fans.

When we start really releasing information about this new project... that will be quite a ways down the line.

GR: ONE OF THE NEWEST UPDATES WILL "FILL IN PLOT HOLES." DID ANYONE NOTICE THOSE PLOT HOLES IN DEVELOPMENT, AND IT WAS JUST TOO LATE TO TURN BACK? AT WHAT POINT DID YOU NOTICE THOSE?

TABATA: While developing the game, up until release, we didn't have that awareness. It was hard to see (things that required more explanation). What we valued most highly was that core experience of going on a journey with your friends. In order to realize that, we wanted to have enough content in there to make it feel right and to feel like that works. We were more worried about, "If that's the full 100%, how much is that is story, combat, the adventure?"

We put everything we had into it. We put our lives on the line. We were like madmen just trying to complete the game. At that time, we just couldn't see outside of that, just had to focus on getting the game out. Obviously, after we released the game, we started getting feedback, and then we started to realize maybe some things weren't as fully explained as they could've been.

GR: SO USER FEEDBACK PLAYED A PART IN NOTICING SOME OF THOSE (PLOT HOLES)?

TABATA: User feedback was important, but it was also important for us to take that step back and take a look at what we'd made, as well. To complete a game, you've got to make the decision at some point, to say, "No, that's where we have to stop." You're going to face that issue. There's no team out there that completed a game and didn't have any regrets -- that thinks what they've put out is perfect.

Looking back, we see things and think we could've, but, no we [had so much going on that we] couldn't have put them in. You only see after you've completed (development of) the game.

Going back and doing that was a really great opportunity and learning experience for us. I'm very glad that we made that decision.

...
more talk in the link, including a part where tabata said they managed to expand FFs demographic.
