Hey folks. I'm in LA now prepping myself for E3 and having a few days of quiet downtime chilling out in the sun before the madness begins.

On my way to grab lunch today I swung past the LACC and grabbed some snaps of the work-in-progress with posters. The entrance hall of the one hall - the one where most of the third parties are based, including EA, Square Enix, Capcom, et al appears pretty much done except for a gigantic inflatable Sunset Overdrive dude that was still being blown up and hoisted into the rafters and some Twitch things.

Outside the Show:

Inside the CC:

And just to dissuade any "FF15 will be on the back of the KH/Theathrythm posters!!" ideas...

Man, I hope one day I can go there, it has to be a very fun experience. But the US are too far from here :_( And well, this is yet another clue telling us that XV isn't going to be there, if that wasn't obvious enough (although I guess there are a ton of posters missing, but bah).

That Lords of the Fallen vitrine is damn beautiful.

It's really not that fun, IMO. You're better off at a show like PAX, or Gamescom, with a big public, consumer-facing presence. That's my advice! You can probably get to Gamescom a lot cheaper too! I can't recommend Gamescom enough. I love E3, but GC is my favourite. Very fun show.

Man, I envy you. I'd love to embark on a trip to California for the first time ever (and my first ever visit to the North American continent by extension), and though a packed video game convention isn't ordinarily one of the first things you turn your mind to when you think California, just attending it one year would be awesome, just to soak up the atmosphere and experience.

If anything, I'm more stoked for any new IP, rather than the sequels. Sequels can be good and all, especially when you've a sequel you've asked for, but I'm often more enchanted by the new, the bold, the experimental, and the unexpected. Just at least once, I want a genuine "what on earth is this, and where did this come from? This sounds amazing!" moment.

I think your pictures, and the SE Presents video (which was probably made by interns, as people have been joking), are definitive enough evidence that we're not getting FFXV, though a mention of it isn't out of the question. I don't think there will be any closed theatre showings, because 1) antiquated practice, and 2) it would be a stupid practice anyway.

I don't see why FF XV or KH III would get their own booths beforehand, much less posters and banners that are hung before the show.

Or any other new games/surprises, for that matter. All of the games displayed are...already out (FF XIV), or have release windows or dates (KH II.5, Homefront, Theatrhythm CC). Preparing for stuff they've already announced means nothing in terms of everything unannounced.

Why would they publicly prepare for surprises?

In any case, you're the luckiest gamer in the world right now, Zonerunner. Have fun in sunny California...which is quite far removed from your native climate, eh?

Well, I guess it would be cheaper, but Germany is still a little far from Madrid! I could also go to Gamelab in Barcelona, although that's mainly for (very interesting) conferences, like Mark Cerny's last year.

I guess it's because it's the big show and we sort of idealize it, but yeah, people I know who have been in both events say that Gamescom treats its audience better, which would be pretty logic too.

Where there posters for XV or KH3 last year?
I don't remember if that was the case for KHIII, but I do remember banners for XV (the one with Noctis and his gang).

Speaking of banners. Who prints that stuff? Who print the FFXV one last year? Was it Square Enix or some other company? Do we have a name?

Someone leaked that FFXV high resolution image last year. It was apparently not on Square Enix's press site.
