Nothing on that. As far as we know Nomura said they were working but even then we never really saw that at the time.

Double post, derp

Well lookie here!

I definitely prefer the new one. The first one looked awfully Fallout-ish. The second one I can at least happily pretend I'm making my own Top Gear knockoff episode while cruising.
I like the new station, I'm playing FF not some horror game. I mean I don't mind ruins and abandon places but that looked to horror-ish. I can imagine a zombie near by. XD

I want to buy food, cooking and fishing stuff at the gas stations (potions too). But town stores and dungeon chests should be for weapons.
Come to think of it, there's been no chest since this game was announced. Maybe weapons and items in dungeons will just be laid on the ground and you'll have to look for them with a shovel or flashlight. Maybe weapons will be stabbed in the ground on the world map.

That was so magnificent. I really need this now. The game is really immense. Although XCX's areas seem a bit bigger, this game looks much better. After watching a world like this, I feel like I can't go back to the old corridors of the Tales games and other FFs. The tech also looked impressive, but some of the things they showed during the gameplay make it seem like it's still in development.

PD: I recognized the gas station as soon as I saw it. Went nuts. Nostalgia(?).

Wow. XV continues to be the game that keeps on giving. This is the Square Enix I've been missing. And let me just say, I'm really envious of the people who get to work on this game as their day job.
The ambition in this game is so pleasing, and it's great seeing Nomura's goals gradually come to fruition. From the vastness of the game's world, to it's seamless design, to the visuals bordering on pre-rendered CG. I'm gaining more and more admiration for Tabata both for his approach as a director and the transparency with fans. Seriously, that I really appreciate.

I'm a huge fan of nuances and subtleties, and that preview had so much detail. The dynamic lighting is gorgeous, and looks so natural! It's crazy knowing that a lot of the actual content wasn't even present either. The animations for one, are super impressive. Seeing the guys get winded trying to keep up with Noctis was amusing. Even seeing them actually adjust their body weight and posture when running and stopping was such an awesome little detail. Stuff like that really goes a long way and humanizes the characters beyond the scripted scenes. The potential for neat random exchanges between the bros while exploring the world is something I look forward to.

A few little things I thought were neat
- The 1950's styled car models (classy design choice)
- Noctis pulls out and checks his phone (29 seconds into the video)
- The characters take notice of their surroundings, like buildings and airships.
- While roaming, the party doesn't cling too close to Noctis and seem to move about their own pace in the same general direction

Seeing more of this game, always makes my day better. Cannot wait for the next showing.

Oh man, to have this on your CV/resumé and to know you've toiled with blood and sweat to help make reality a vast game that isn't some passionless low-grade ripoff like a few things I can name. Then again, working conditions for the average programmer on the team could be hell on earth for all we know, especially when we consider the tumultuous swathes of problems the company has been through of late. =P

Oh, and wonderful post. I don't quite fully share the same degree of enthusiasm or excitement because I naturally like to keep my expectations below a certain threshold, but you've astutely put into words what I really enjoyed from all the footage, even if all the cute minor details don't necessarily provide much indication as to the overall quality of the game when it arrives. Despite the inevitable problem of pop-up geometry and features in the background, the technical showcase of this game really puts this on a pedestal higher than almost all current-gen games (if we ignore for a moment the inherent advantage of PC and max settings) in the pipeline at this moment in time. The only other competitors I can think of are...The Witcher 3 and Batman: Arkham Knight?

@Fleur Agreed. At least the pop-in should (hopefully) be ironed out. And I'm not sure if Arkham Knight qualifies... isn't it Gotham only like Origins and City?

Yeah Batman AK is bigger than before but not to the level that we're seeing with Witcher 3, FFXV, or MMOs. Another game with a lot exploring the wide open again is Dragon Age: Inqusition.

Beautiful video to say the least, like everyone said the scale is amazing, the device they used to capture the footage was a potato, however.
No matter how far we've come into this video game universe, A.I. creatures will always be stupid... I noticed that at 3:13 you could see a rhino type thing getting stuck between two trees, but still running while going nowhere. They also pan away the camera, then transition after that segment.

I'm sure there will be someone who will take joy in exploiting that instance of A.I. blunderbrain, but it may kill the immersion for others. Then again, this is a work in progress.

Also, nice gas station. The world, or this segment of the map looks like Northern Italy.

As ever adapting humans we can always outsmart programs that follow set commands and sequences. I know they can make really good AI but I doubt there's a perfect AI that would lead to being able to zig-zag thru trees and hops fences and keep chasing you with intelligence of us humans. Something that smart wouldn't be wasted as random encounter in a RPG.

As I rewatch all of the trailers for Final Fantasy XV, I've noticed and wonder if luna is the dragoon woman from the previous 2011 trailer

What I'm looking forward to most is seeing the location/city that was inspired by Manchester, England as Nomura mentioned that was one of them.

Accordo is Venice and then there's this deserted area (Fallout style) that reminds me of Texas/New Mexico.

I know I'm a minority here, but one of the things that have me more bumped about this game are its similarities to FFVIII, even if they are just by the looks. FFVIII was my first FF and remains one of my favorites (albeit all of its flaws), and everytime I watch a trailer or something FFXV related I'm immediately reminded of that game (with a more emphatic protagonist though).

I'm so hyped right now!

I read somewhere (cant find the source though)that FFXV(lore and concept wise) was actually a discarded idea of FFVIII, so i can see why theres it has a similar feel.
