I'm still not really sold on the combat system (I'll have my doubts until I actually play it) but damn, everything else about this game looks so amazing. The world looks so vast and beautiful and hopefully filled with content. Can't wait to explore the sh*t out of Duscae in the demo.

ALL ABOARD THE HYPE TRAIN :cactuar:

It's basically KH battle system but better, I'm even more hyped for the combat system after it was clarified how it works.

Yeah combat shouldn't be a worry anymore. You can mash or hold, Gambits potentially adds a lot of depth, parrying, tactical set up for your weapons deck, and a lot of what was from the original battle system is in plus much more.

Just need to try it out or part of it in the demo and I'm sold on it.

So much rage when it wasn't mentioned the first time it was given to the public......
Jump Festa is on its way. I hope we see more of the story and the locations in the game then.
Given the questions that they didn't intentionally cover, I hope/I guess that'll be for the Jump Festa Active Time Report. Just gotta wait almost 2 months. :(

Can get clarification on Stella/Luna once and for all.

So is it safe to assume/say they are starting their PR campaign?

Not sure if what they are doing currently would count as it or not.
Pretty much. Jump Festa will probably be a year away from the games release. After the demo releases, they will only be at major events, I bet.

Loved seeing the Luminous video, a great inside look on the development side of this game, they're doing wonders with PR after TGS, plus I love seeing stuff like this.

Based on what we've seen here and what was said last time, I think it's safe to say that Luminous is being tailored to work specifically for XV which is why Kingdom Hearts isn't being made with it anymore. It speeds up development time, and can be branched in the future for future games.

Also, we saw a glimpse of an untextured/unfinished Accordo(?), I think this pretty much confirms what I was thinking, that you WILL be able to explore all of Accordo, and even go inside many of the houses.

I hope Nomura can put all the ideas that he couldn't get into XV into KH3 and the future KH games. Seems a waste, unless KH3 does end up being the last due to how things have been.

I'm pretty sure his ideas are in XV though, the story and characters are by far the most important part, the battle system doesn't really matter, especially since this battle system is superior than any standard KH battle system would ever be.

Such revolutionary design choices made possible with the current game tech. :O
On top of that, such crisp details within the green lands from the blade of grasses to the sloped hills AND MORE! Literally right now, most of the games I'm excited for, is coming out of Square Enix or almost all in Japan! :D
Japanese developers know what their audience wants, the West is very much different than the East. I much prefer the Japanese developers, they make games that are more interesting in my opinion, I don't really enjoy Western RPGs.

I'm very excited for this game. Many people say that it's not Final Fantasy, but if you pay attention you see that it's just more detail in the life of what Final Fantasy characters go through. It's like a classic Final Fantasy game with today's graphics. This leap forward with technology means that we just take a step closer to immersing ourselves in the Fantasy world, I'm excited to explore the world, dungeons and cities.

I have to wonder, will loading between areas still be a thing? Considering the scope of the world map, it wouldn't make sense to need to load in a town as you could just stream the town in when you got near by similar to how GTA handles these things.

I think that's a bold claim, considering no one other thank the devs have played the game. Sure, it may seem great, but I'd rather play the game with my own hands to say something like that.

It may be a bold statement, but it's not unreasonable to say in the least. I may not have played XV's battle system, but I have played Kingdom Hearts, and it's a very basic button mashing battle system. Birth By Sleep does a great job at making great innovations with the combat system, but overall the traditional Kingdom Hearts battle is very straight forward and not at all customizable.

The fact that you can customize what combo string you'll do based on a variety of factors including positional distance and direction from an enemy, directional input with the attack button, party member proximity, current main hand weapon, and more makes this battle system already far superior. I don't need to play it to know that if this is how it will work, it's basically a better KH battle system.

Parrying and blocking are still in the game, only they work way better than they did in Kingdom Hearts, as you have attached functionality. Delegating special attacks and moves to a single button in Kingdom Hearts makes the combat feel scripted, while the reactionary conditional based system presented in XV will allow for the user to initiate special moves and abilities based on their actions in the battle system, not based on a button prompt. Other special abilities were activated under certain thresholds that could NOT be controlled, like a percentage based execution which made using them very sporadic and not all useful in a strategic sense, as they are never reliable.

Ultimately all of these factors make for a better battle system. We of course don't know exactly what the battle system was going to be like to full detail, but given that Nomura originally mentioned it was going to be very much like Kingdom Hearts, it's safe to say that it wouldn't be that far off from the traditional battle systems we've had in the past.

We already know that the battle system is going to be much like Type-0, essentially a hybrid between it and Kingdom Hearts, which makes it far better than both individually.

Gotta agree with Yeah on this one. The XV battle system looks good, but KH2 was the best ARPG battle system I've ever played other than BBS. That's a tough act to follow. I'm sure XV's will be a great battle system, I just want any battle system or game mechanic ideas NOT used in XV to be be in KH3 and so on down the line. And reaction commands helped a lot in KH2, they didn't feel scripted to me. They were more like helpful options to help turn the tide in battle.

@ Wazi the pa I was just talk about putting XV gameplay mechanics into KH3's usual battle system. Not story ideas. I wouldn't add more to KH's story until after Xeha is dead for good.
