FFXV's presence at E3 2015 is a MUST! I don't know if Gamescom 2015 is the best event to announce it, but maybe if they have no choice. If not, then TGS 2015 is our last hope for this year. But knowing Tabata, he wouldn't pick the Japanese event if he wants to attract the worldwide audience. But if he did, that would mean late 2015/early 2016 is a no-go. Expect the worse, but not the worst. Mid 2016 is the nearest possibility.

Do you wanna hear the worst?

It will be at this years E3, they skipped last years, there's no reason to really dwell over this. They're going to announce their release window for FFXV at E3 this year it's just that simple.

I'm just making a statement. What if it won't? Let's also consider that possibility, even if it's likely not to happen. Saying that it's an obvious move to announce at E3, is just us setting our hopes up high AGAIN. There's no hard evidence to back it up, is there?

If you consider the recent trends for this game and the person who is delivering us all this information, Yes I have no doubt in my mind it won't miss this years E3 2015. In terms of E3, they have to give us an update from a western/worldwide perspective. Not everyone knows about ATRs, however nearly everyone knows about E3. In terms of E3 we haven't gotten an update since E3 2013 ( 2 years).

So Considering these very important facts, I would gauge FFXV to be at E3 2015 to at a 99% probably. Yes there is always a chance (1%) that it won't show up. However, they need to update everyone (at E3 because that's where all gamers are focused on the tv/internet for updates on the game(s) they are looking forward too.)

1) Tabata very open about FFXV ( and type-0 HD)
2) He is even going to small remote areas to promote this game ( with new content!) like the one from Malaysia.
3) From a "full game" perspective, they have shown off this game at TGS/Jump Fiesta 2014.
4) Demos from FF normally signify that the game in question will be released within a year after it's demo release. (from FF history that is)

I am very confident it will show up at E3 2015, now whether or not it will be a full out playable demo with 20 min gameplay walk-through, or just a simple trailer with a lot of interview questions answered is still up in the air.
They seem to be on a promotional run with FFXV constantly giving us FFXV info. I honestly would be surprised if it didn't show it's face at E3 this year.

But there are 2 demo's to be released, so when would we start the countdown of 1 year? When the Episode Duscae releases in march, or the "Episode Insomnia" demo that will be a released at a unknown time?

The second demo wasn't really planned, until the last moment. It more of an "I'm sorry that we didn't tell anyone you can only get it on day 1".

That 2nd demo is kinda a "special case" to calm down the fans. That demo is the same demo we saw in the very first tech demo they displayed ( just in a more polished fashion). and that demo will have much less content and it will take less time to make than Episode Duscae.

Personally, I don't count the 2nd demo as that demo is more of an apology to fans.

Another words I am stick with the countdown starting March 17th ( or somewhere along those lines).

FFXV deserves that kind of luxurious announcement of a release date & advertisment. When I first saw that 5 or more years ago, I had occupied my 60 bucks ready & on standby just for XIII. The excitement for the game really got to me.
I definitely see where you're coming from...

I really hope XV doesn't get a trailer like that. That was probably the most pretentious trailer I've seen.
...but this is hilarious and I somewhat agree haha. Had a bit too much pageantry.

IF they announce the release date, it's all 'YAY!' or 'FINALLY!' for us.
BUT if they only announce the year of release, would it satisfy us? To me, yes. But I'm curious on what the others think about this.

If they only announce the Year of it's release? Yes people will be happy, because they know it shouldn't be any further away than the year provided.
