It's interesting how large of a city Lucis is. It's hard to imagine what you can do there, unless it's meant to be a battleground of sorts for your party.
Don't you remember the old Versus trailers? Do you think Square Enix is going to let those assets go to waste? I'm pretty sure we will be fighting through Lucis in the beginning of the game making our way to the Lucis Castle after the invasion kicks in.

Which I agree on. I'm not sure what I said implied thought that SE were going to let those assets go to waste. I just can't imagine there being much for you to do relative to the scale of that map, apart from it being a one-off thing for the story (battleground).

so I was looking old screens and...

Lucis looks quite big from there, I really hope we can fully explore the city.

I wonder if we'll actually explore Accordo or only what's left of it.
You know...I think we actually will. How could they be planning on making the game seamless otherwise (granted they are having difficulties implementing the cities into open world, but that struggle suggests to me that thy are attempting to do it.)
I think Insomnia will be far and away the biggest city seen in FF. It will be the first time a city (albeit a little smaller) comparable to GTA will be implemented.

Accordo looks like it will certainly be explorable. You will notice in the background an array of bridges, paths and waterways that link every island together.
You will notice there is a beach down in the bottom right. Slightly to the left of it is a jetty, which leads into some kind of gate (man-made structure) under the rock. Why would something like this be included? My guess is that we will go there, or it may provide an escape route. There is also a cove beside that.
Will be interesting to see.

but their lottery is shit anyway "You can enter the competition by using points gained from your purchases at Gamestop. Each entry costs 200 points and you can participate up to fifteen times, which costs 2000 points." lol

I was thinking about this today: Back when Noctis still wore his pre ROEN cloths, they had that picture of him sitting like Sora from KH. I was wondering, other than the name being the opposite of Sora's does anyone think they will have more in common? Or some larger connection?

Damn, I can't wait until after the demo is released and we get some footage from other areas than Duscae. I mean, it's pretty and all, but I need to see more locations!

To be majestically destroyed by Leviathan in a cutscene. :chocowalk:
But yeah, I also hope Accordo is fully explorable. But about Insomnia, let's be realistic, it's just too big. We may get a large area in the city to explore but surely not the whole thing.

I thought we've already established that
Noctis is really Sora's Nobody.

Woo! Finally read up this whole thread! I'm super excited for more details on the game (and of course the demo! Bring on the walkthroughs!) I'm curious about Noct's sharingan- I mean magical red eyes! xD I remember hearing something years back about his eyes being able to see something that others can't but it's been years and I don't remember the source. Plus changes and stuff... So, yeah xD

Im kinda worried about the Luna/Stella thing, Prompto actually got a face/hair redesign so maybe they did the same to Stella?

or maybe they're sisters, that girl running with Noctis [2013 trailer] could not be Stella since they only meet for the first time on the agreetments party.

For reference if it turns out they're different, unrelated people who just happen to be blonde and female.
Given that we seem to have already seen the main characters at different ages (e.g. Noctis and some girl as children) in various trailers/gameplay, as well as the fact that Tabata likes FF VI personally as well as the reference to WoB/WoR though the World of Wonder trailer, has anyone considered a break in the timeline for XV?

What if Luna is just a younger Stella? Something happens in the middle of the story and 2-3 years pass before the story continues, like the year-long gap before World of Ruin. During these 2-3 years Luna matures, gains strength and confidence, and changes her name to Stella to cement her growth and transformation.

The only odd part about that is all the anecdotal bits about Noctis first meeting Stella at the signing ceremony but maybe that part's been altered?

That's a pretty bold claim considering what little we know. All we can say for sure is that the vision is as Nomura originally intended. This much has been repeated time after time. We'll probably never know what changed, if any.

Hey, let's have a recap on what ideas and systems that are still retained from the Nomura-led FFXV to Tabata-led FFXV.
It's a good way to visualize how much hasn't changed since then. We keep getting new updates and infos from Tabata-san
that we lose sight of what was retained up until now.

about the story, it seems nothing changed, some people might say Versus XIII had a darker tone but we dont know how the game would feel outside the cutscenes and gameplay segments of Lucis before. The road trip idea and realistic design is retained.

concerning gameplay... Nomura mentioned before co-op attacks and autonomous actions for party members, he also considered at some point having only Noctis playable, and having automatic weapons... its true that he confirmed later controllable party members and manual weapon switching but it seems Tabata sticked with his old ideas?

The warp ability, and Magitek armor are retained too.
