Just think about a "Noctis' suit" mod or even a "control every party member" mod. There are endless and awesome possibilities. ^^
For someone to actually implement a mod to control every party member it would take a lot of work and most likely wouldn't be possible. I doubt we will even see mods for FFXV. There are a lot of factors that go into modding a game, it will take a lot of time for people to figure out data structures as and writing code to unpack data from the files as well as rewrite data.

Things like swapping textures is possible with things that can hijack DX calls like TexMod, but the likelihood that anyone is going to create a mod that even changes models let alone controlling party members is something that would require a lot of work and access to a lot of functions that might not even be possible. Depends on how the game is programmed and what sort of access people can dig up IF they manage to even get to that point.

Basically... I wouldn't count on mods ever being a thing for XV. People haven't been able to even mod FFXIII yet, I've seen a content restoration pack for XIII-2, but that's taking content that was available for DLC and making it available for PC. Not only is this far easier than adding new content, but it was also difficult for the person that did these mods to even achieve THIS.

And even without mods a PC version would probably ruin me because I just have to play the game in the best version possible.

I think I have to start to put some money aside for the 8K projector and a potent PC to run this shit at 240fps. ( given that they wouldn't cap those things of course )

Don't expect the PC version for quite some time anyways if they even do one.

Nah of course not. It will probably take them another 6 to 18 months to release it anyway. But there's no "if" only a "when". A pc version is definitely coming.. sooner or later.

Of course it will, when ?... Lets ask that question to Lighting, she may know the answer.

Steam Workshop compatibility. Boom.

If SE are dumb enough not to officially support mods in some way, they'll be losing TONS of potential customers. Modding is a massive quality of PC gaming, especially open world games that make a good platform to build mods on to. One could even argue that games like Skyrim and GTA V owe their success on PC to the modding community.

But if they're listening to fans as they say they are, then there's no doubt that the very minute they announce a PC version people will ask for mod support above anything else, so I have faith.

Having to shoehorn in Steam Workshop compatibility is not easy... And, I actually don't think SE cares at all about whether or not players want to mod their game. Final Fantasy isn't really a game that you think about modding.

I would way that games like Skyrim and GTAV lend themselves to be PC games because they are bigger games. Having a sandbox game means modding makes sense, but a game like FFXV makes no sense to have mods. What would you honestly add to the game?

I don't think we'll be getting a PC version any time soon, and I DEFINITELY don't think it will have ANY modding support... Who is clamoring for mod support for XV? It's just not in the style of FF to mod the game, and again I don't even know what you would do for mods.

I don't think it's dumb for them not to consider it because I think it's dumb to consider it as something that people really care that much about for this game.
