Does anyone have any information on "Special Soundtrack"? I know it features music from the game, movie and anime... but do we have any sense of whether or not this is the FULL soundtrack? It's on a blu-ray so I'm sure they could fit all of it, but most collector's editions only give you a "selections" instead of the whole thing =/

Selections from FFXV, Kingsglaive, and Brotherhood. Not the full game OST.

From this week Famitsu interview (preview scans):
September 30th 2016 release for FFXV was the first thing Tabata decided when becoming director in December 2013.

I´m sure there´s more tidbits yet to be translated in that interview once the full magazine releases. What we can take away from this is that Tabata took the role of full-director 1 year after he was put as Co-Director (December 2012).

Some flying get stuff ahead of Famitsu's release this Thursday:
- Cover is Kingsglaive
- 6-page interview with Tabata and Nozue
- The team's looking into making ○○○○○ possible through DLC
- BD2's doing basic research on VR and have interest in it
etc.

http://blog.hokanko-alt.com/archives/48288776.html

EDIT: Famitsu interviewed Tabata, Nozue, and Ofuji. I'm not sure if this is part of their long interview in the 19-page feature that's going to be released tomorrow, but nevertheless, here are the major points. Pardon the spotty wording:
- Tabata says that only 30,000 collector's editions were produced because only 30,000 Noctis Play Arts Kai figures could be made. The figures also have to be shipped to various regions, and apparently it takes 3 months for them to arrive in Europe. His head hurt when he heard that all 30,000 collector's editions were sold out.
- Tabata apologizes for only being able to produce 30,000, and he knows that it hurts for people who've waited 10 years to be unable to purchase a collector's edition. He's looking into what SE can do about this matter (already mentioned by the official FFXV Twitter accounts).
- When asked how SE arrived at their casting choice for Kingsglaive, Nozue says that they chose actors based on their performance skills and how they could bring out the different characters.
- Tabata says that Kingsglaive isn't limited by the performance of a game console, so they're working 100% to make it the highest quality it can be. They originally casted actors for both Kingsglaive and FFXV, but actors' schedules were tight, and the amount of time spent working as well as the cost made SE decide to let loose the cast for the movie from the game.
- Regis's design was changed for Kingsglaive, and the change carried over to the game in order for his appearance to be less jarring and to continue the immersion from movie to game.
- In all of the different contents (Brotherhood, Kingsglaive, Platinum, as well as in FFXV), we can enjoy depictions of Noctis's childhood. Ofuji says that, being released ahead of the game and not afterwards as spin-offs, the other works within the FFXV universe are thus unified.
- Brotherhood contains scenes of daily life and themes of friendship that are otherwise not able to be implemented in the game.
- SE are preparing opportunities for users around the world to try out the full version of XV (this does not mean a new demo; Tabata says there's no plans for another one after Platinum). This would be from summer and on. In Japan, XV is likely to be at Tokyo Game Show, which starts approximately 15 days before the game's release.
- Tabata says that there's "absolutely no chance" that people won't be able to try the full version before release (my own thought: well, I guess you'd have to want to play it really badly).
- Shimomura's in charge of 80-90% of XV's music. The rest are variations of her works or some other themes that are handled by other people.
- Shimomura's contributing Kingsglaive's theme song and overseeing the music for parts that are strongly tied between movie and game.
- Kingsglaive music is "Shimomura meets Hollywood," according to Nozue, since she composes the pieces and then a Hollywood arranger modifies them. Then there are other pieces created by the Hollywood composer.
- Some of the themes of XV's music: "filial bonds," "friendship." Music will also serve to highlight character's personalities.
- As mentioned earlier in Game Watch, "Stand by Me" is Noctis's way of expressing the feelings of gratitude in his heart that he can't say straight out.

The big bang Amano art was created when Versus was born, yet they showed it for the first time last week (meaning it was relevent 10years ago and still is now!) ....
2006 *.* really old ! Regalia hasn't change.
It explains too why we can't see Ramuth on Amano's artwork. This new scares me, I hoped see all summons present on this artwork, now I doubt. On the artwork, there are so many summons for only one game...

The interesting catch earlier in this thread about
Regis's tomb being in the E3 2013 and the Platinum Demo, indirectly confirms that the E32013 Insomnia combat footage was not chronalogically during the Insomnia invasion (as was in Versus) and indeed then, the story details about Noct not being present for treaty party were changing while Nomura was still in charge!
...
Regis's tomb ? Where do you see that ? I can't remember and I don't find this.

Concern RE: Summons (relating to that vid, so I will spoiler just in case)

We haven't seen Ramuh or Titan outside of their respective backgrounds, and now seeing Titan throwing the rock, along with Ramuh throwing his staff from Duscae in the uncovered trailers, I'm getting somewhat concerned that every time you cast them, it will be from their respective starting zones, and it will cut to them throwing their projectile, then back to your area when it hits, as opposed to the summons appearing, picking you up and doing their thing where they were.

Which is fine, but a teensy bit disappointing.

Edit: Someone brought this to my attention. Looks like the summons have their respective home zones. If you're in it, you get the local summon animation. If you're too far away, they throw a projectile instead.

That's not so bad, and makes a lot of sense technically.

In light of the recent discussions about Stella vs Luna in this thread, the new gameinformer article actually touches on that:

Additionally, the heroine initially called Stella changed during development; her name is now Luna, since her role has shifted so significantly from the original concept
Stella evolved into Luna confirmed, unless that was just the writer's take.

Yeah, that is basically what Tabata said back in June 2015, they felt that because Luna's role was so much different to Stella that they changed her name completely. Honestly, with the moon being so featured in the game since the beginning, and all the characters having symbolic names, it totally makes sense that her name would be Luna and not Stella anyway.....

New artwork

Noctis looks SO GOOD here! I didn't notice this initially, lol
EDIT:
I'm thinkging I should go on media blackout, everything is gonna get spoiled in the next few months, isn't it? The problem is, I still want definitive information on WHEN we will get to play in Insomnia as that was my biggest worry about the initial changes to the game from Versus to XV-
Well, that and whether the whole culture of Lucis was reworked and changed to satisfy ratings requirements somewhere *Cough* China *cough*...we still don't completely know the results of that...

I'm sorry I scoured the last few pages of this and the other FFXV threads, maybe the poster deleted the post, I can't find it anymore. There was however a post about it a long time ago in this thread, I think somewhere between March and October 2015, someone noticed it in the footage of the E3 2013 Gameplay trailer and there is was a stillframe snapshot posted. If you look on the correct page you can probably find it. I'm sorry I can't be of more help!

I'd be willing to bet most figures in that artwork are not summons.

Famitsu interview with Tabata and Nozue in english, new information:
  • FFXV story is split into chapters, but each section may take the player a hour or more, they expect the average playtime will be more.
  • Noctis is roughly 8 years on in Platinum Demo.
  • KINGSGLAIVE: FINAL FANTASY XV is 110 minutes long.
  • Both stories for the game and the movie open up at the same point. KINGSGLAIVE: FFXV fleshes out the story of Regis.

--“Let’s talk about the project you’re overseeing, Kingsglaive: FFXV. Coming in at 110 minutes, it feels like a serious feature film.”

Nozue: Everyone is working their hardest on FFXV, so Kingsglaive: FFXV deserves the same devotion. We wanted to be sure the viewers could enjoy Kingsglaive: FFXV as a feature film, so from the initial planning stage we ensured it would be long enough. From there, in order to deliver a cinematic experience, we brought in a talented professional screenwriter, and other staff from Hollywood.

--“Roughly how old is Noctis in this dream?”

Tabata: Eight years old, I believe. In an episode of Brotherhood: FFXV, a young Noctis is attacked by a monster, leaving him on the brink of death. The Platinum Demo: FFXV is the dream Noctis has as he teeters between life and death.

hm interesting.

Came here to post it, yeah.

It seems like we have a confirmed age for Noctis? 23? (The Dawn trailer showed both Luna and Noctis as kids with a "Fifteen years ago" intro). Not surprising, considering Nomura said Cor (42 years old) was roughly 20 years older than Noctis and co. And that should put Gladio at 28 going by ED (I'm expecting Ignis a bit younger than him and Prompto around Noctis' age).

In a few hours (I think) we should have some new info by GI. I'm wondering whether they'll upload a long-ish gameplay video (as in, 5 minutes of uninterrumpted gameplay), but I kind of doubt it. I don't really mind what's been shown so far, although I understand maaaany will want to go blind from now on.
