Being a long time Legend of Zelda fan, i'm used to delays and can usually live with them. From my experience, Nintendo only ever seem to provide a release window and are non committal to providing a firm date until they are confident the product is to the required standard.

Watching all the Active Time Reports and playing Episode Duscae last year, made me think that the game still required quite a lot of work. I was expecting a November or December release date for this very reason, so i was surprised they announced a September 30th release date in all honesty.

With them hyping the release date at the uncovered event, the brotherhood episodes (which i think are fantastic), the build up to the release of Kingsglaive and with us being so close to the release date, i will be absolutely gutted if it's delayed and i think it will really damage all this positive momentum they have been building. I've booked time off work for release weekend and it will really dampen my spirits.

Here's hoping Square release a statement to confirm or deny these rumours, so we all know where we stand!

They will. We just have to wait.

Someone correct me if I´m wrong but I remember (may be wrongly) Naughty Dog once stating that The Last of Us was unplayable just less than a month away from release but manage to make the game playable in less than 30 days, FFXV having 60 extra days could mean a lot of things for the dev team.

I remember this. I just feel that if this is true SE has handled this poorly, and not just your No Mans Sky being pushed back poor. They shouldn't have announced a release date for this game if they didn't think they could hit it. They've still got 7 weeks, that's still more than 30 days, if they push it back a week, or even two, fair. How could they be at such a point that they'd need and extra 60 days...

Seems like bad time management and they would have been better with a "Winter 2016" reveal instead of giving a date. Bad marketing.

Edit: In fact if they wanted this game to be a massive success then this is the exact opposite of what should have happened.

I see it as a likely thing. Consider that the September 30th release date is only 7 weeks away, yet no rating has been assigned yet, this rumour holds some truth as of now. The rumours will clear up on Monday, when GameStop puts up the new promo material.
The rating has been confirmed for a while now, its ESRB T, CERO C, Australia M, PEGI-16, I don't know if I'm missing any.

EDIT: beaten.

FFXV has a rating.

This seriously sucks, I took time off from work and I prepared myself mentally and physically to finally play FFXV. Tabata said before that they only announce a release date if they are confident they can make it on that time. I just don't understand why they would delay it out of no where, did the game always look bad and my hype for it just blinded me from all of it's problems? What can they really do in 2 months? Ugh .. I feel so empty and tired, I just want to get off this roller-coaster already and move on with my life, its been a long time coming and honestly I just want it to end. I don't think I have ever been so emotionally invested in a video game before, this is insane, what are you doing to me FFXV?

What bothers me even further is that I will have literally nothing to play in September, I am not interested in any of the titles they have on that month. And a November release date is the absolute worse, they'd be going up against Pokemon, and most people are busy during that time anyway. *sigh*

Lets also not forget the delays Persona 5 and Zelda BoTW have faced too.

Spare me the pettiness, I am entitled to feel like this after 10 years of waiting. Also, I know it isn't confirmed, but there is still a big chance for it to be true, and honestly I am beginning to think it is true.

I hope that wasn't directed to me. Not saying i'm a fan of it (cuz i'm REAAAAALLY not), but in this gen even with games that ended up great delays are way too common these days.

What? No, I wasn't addressing you if that's what you mean =/
I am aware that a lot of games did that and it turned out great I just feel really bitter about the release date being so close and having it pushed back even more. I do think that if a delay does happen then its good for the game, no doubt about that, I just can't help feeling the way I do.

I don't think it can be true, Square can't afford a delay. Square has so much banking on this one game, that they can't risk losing their current momentum. They have hyped this game up so much, to the extent of giving it it's own press conference. If they delay, the hype will die, and their sales will plummet. Sure hard core fans will stick around, but people who were interested will lose interest, two months is a huge delay, maybe not compared to ten years, but at this point it will probably sink Square.

Yeah i really hear you, really wish they did said a release window instead from Uncovered. But i guess they really didn't see this coming.

This rumor can't be true for one simple fact:

My wife preordered the Deluxe Edition for me as a birthday gift (which is around the current release date). So, I mean, like... guys.. holds me.

This is what I was trying to convey but put much better (Apart from my emotions about it)

One point, I don't think it'll sink SE, but it will sink the FF franchise, after the shit storm of the XIII trilogy, they really can't afford another mishap.
