The only thing I feel was misrepresented was the PRO patch. That should've been kept under wraps or said to have been coming in 2017. Promising December was a mistake on Tabby's part. All the other accusations against Tabata are hyperbolic and likely just playing into the false Nomura vs. Tabata narrative the internet/fanboys want to kick around for petty drama. Fanboyism at its worst.

Yeah, unfortunately, when the developers speak a different language, sometimes things get muddled. As far as I can tell, the only one that ever made a definitive statement was someone writing about it, and he/she just left out the uncertainty.

Found this "leak" about the upcoming FF 30th Anniversary.

At the end of the article, it says it they might be aiming for a mid to late 2018 release for the PC version of FFXV.

Again it's a rumour not factual.

Let's discuss your thoughts on this.

"Final Fantasy releases in 2017 to celebrate the anniversary: Square will launch Final Fantasy VII Remake (first episode) and Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age as main games to celebrate the Final Fantasy’s birthday."

hard to believe FFVII remake part 1 releasing this year

Unless the VII remake part was before a last minute decision was made, i'm not really expecting much out of it's validity by the end of the month.

That's not very specific, he could mean months or years, he shared with KH3 that's worlds have still not yet been touched, but he didn't share much about FF7R. FF7R could still come out this year since it's multipart, CyberConnect2 is working on it, as well as it being made in Unreal Engine 4, along with the story being there.

I too, find it hard to believe. Especially since recent articles highlighted Nomura's comments regarding the matter.

I can only hope since I'm greatly looking forward to the title, but not holding my breath.

In regards to the PC release for FFXV, it might be later than what the article predicted. They've got so much content planned and, stuff happens, so the development of those things may take longer than originally thought. Thus the PC version might be pushed back further.

Making the PC port would proabably get in their way of long term improvement of the game, so I´m not expecting development of port until the team feels that they "fixed" everything they could and wanted from XV.

It could also mean a potential early 2018 release.

We'll see during the anniversary, but i won't hold my breath.

I don't think it's so much of after they fix everything with FFXV, as FFXV PC is a recreation of FFXV, a superior version of FFXV, a technical showcase, as they say, so it's not a simple port, granted it will have the same combat, story, but things will be different. I'm hoping the Leviathan fight is more like the FFXV 2013 wishful thinking I know but it's possible if the assets are still there.

I think the FFXV DLC and PC Version will be worked on concurrently.

This is how I see it too.

It would only make sense for them to start on the PC version after they've patched up and added everything they wanted into the base game.

My (baseless mind you) prediction for a release date would be late 2018 or early 2019.

Not entirely sure about that they probably have started adapting the engine(What Tabata has said), maybe start laying out what they plan on doing for it, what they want to change, what they want to keep, features that can be put back in that had to be axed due to console limitations.(Tabata said this BTW)

Hoping for the announcement of a Kingsglaive Game or Versus XV?
No I dont think they will announce any of that this early, they are still working at xv dlc now maybe next year at the earliest. Im only 10% sure that versus reboot games are actually coming though only if Nomura really wants to do it and Square thinks its really viable will it happen. Although I really do want it to happen.

Reasons it might happen: Versus Was Nomuras dream game and now that XV was so successful they might put him on a reboot, or a XV-2 in a new reality, like if the original XV occured in a dream or occured in a different reality.

Reasons it might not happen: Nomura is tired and dosent want to work on it anymore and square just wants to move on from the XV universe. Tabata keeps his word of it being one confined game. Also if the Versus script just isnt viable anymore. Like they rewrote it so many times and it just wasent a good script (I know I say that Versus was a going to be a great story but there is a chance it might not have been)

Really if a Versus reboot isnt possible, I just want a Directors cut of XV itself with all of its "cut content" included in it.

That's quite interesting.

Is there a link to this article? I'm quite curious to read it. I'm gonna be buying it again on PC so would be great to know what's in store for it (or the planning phase for it)

Honestly the way I see it, after Final Fantasy XV's DLC stuff, and a PC Version. I don't think they are going to let go of this world just yet especially with how well the sales are.
Kingdom Hearts 3 will be done this year and probably ship next year
The FF7 Remake will probably be finished 2022 Unless they go yearly with that then we will probably have the entire remake 2020 if 2018 is the first release. X-3 will be one game, but after that they might not have anything they can do high profile like FFXV, or VII Remake, or X-3. So who knows maybe they will announce a Kingslaive game next year, add a FF DLC world to KH3, and maybe tease a Versus XV trilogy. I mean It could be possible as it would give them a stop gap from this generation to the next generation, and they could be cheap and easy to produce do the assets already being there.
Meh.

We'll be getting DLCs/FFXVI out of the way before any thought of either of those project are considered.
I don't think we will be getting FFXVI this generation, I think Square will be doing FF spin-offs, a 7 Remake sequels, and FFX-3. I don't think they want another FFXV situation, on their hands, where they announce the game people like it, then have long droughts of news, then generation switches.
