The fact that this shit was made and that other thing is the April Fools joke. This thing should be the joke, it actually looks like one.
It'll likely at the very least make tens of millions of dollars. This was a cash move. MZ's games make a ton of money.

It doesn't take a genius to understand why this was made just by looking at who the developer is.

Oh great so instead of a potentially good game like FF Tactics Alexander what do we get, a soulless lifeless cash grab.

Yeah, welcome to mobile games. No company just lives off of goodwill.

It'll likely cost a fraction of what a fully developed FF Tactics game would cost, and it'll make sums of money that the FF Tactics game couldn't even dream of.

(that's the actual reason why it's only an April Fool's joke)

Still doesn't change the fact that this game is still trash, I mean if Tactics Alexander was a real game then I'd be ok with this, but this is just man just looking at the art this game has me like

LOL Jubileus. I'm glad you're excited.
They need to make an announcement to clarify what exactly it is they're going to do with that.

DLC? Not DLC? Update patch?

Told a friend they're doing something with Ardyn but dunno what yet and she pretty much squealed which was hilarious (she be one of dem fan girls)

Now she's pestering me is it a DLC or not, and I can only reply with "dunno yet" lol

You can only tolerate so many text message notifications in a row before you just wanna turn it off. The excitement is real it seems.

I'm speculating feedback on the Chocobros episodes as a whole will be good which could open up the door for a Cor, Aranea, and Ardyn focal DLC arcs at some point. I heavily doubt at this point we'll be seeing FFXVI this console gen.

It is odd for me to feel mildly more interested in Tabata's new IP than FFXVI?

I mean, obviously its too early since we already have XV atm & know next to nothing about XVI. But hearing Tabby's talks on wanting a fantasy based new IP has been really peaking my interesting lately.

Given XV, Type-0, and Crisis core you can at least have some type of ball park idea of where that IP could go. XVI, on the other hand, has literally no traceable info on it that could help determine how it would be structured. We don't know what type of RPG it will be, who will direct it, what time setting it'll take place, nor the type of story.

So no, it isn't odd for you to be attracted more to something you have more information about.

at least try to use reasonable logic once, because whatever you write is 100% emotion fueled.

No. It sounds far more exciting than any future Final Fantasy venture. Square-Enix has needed a new IP for awhile now. Plus, Tabata will have more creative freedom and creative control from the outset. Two things he didn't with Final Fantasy XV. It also helps that I am a massive fan of Type-0. I'm all in.

Why are you bringing my mother into this any way this looks like trash, like Jim Sterling, Greenlight levels of trash

I'm honestly super curious about Tabata's new IP. He's probably been working on that with a small core team for a bit of this year, too (after his holidays, he's not in charge of the DLCs in such a grand manner where he couldn't do other stuff). It also seems that he's had this idea for a while now (probably even before taking on XV?), so it's exciting.

Can't say I inconditionally loved any of his games: XV was good, but dissapointing -for reasons he's to take the blame for and others derived from the schedule and game's history-, Type-0 was nice enough from what I played, but didn't grab me at all, and CC (never played T3B) was quite entertaining, but a game that muddles the whole FF VII universe to me.

So I hope his creative team is solid, because, while some of his games' ideas are great, their execution leaves a lot to be desired. I'll go and say that I actually expect XV's overall combat system to be present in this game, as Tabata seems to be the creator of that patent along with another guy I can't remember right now. Tweak it so that it's considerably newer (and doesn't depend on XV's exclusive abilities, like warping) and there you have it.

A fully fantastical AAA JRPG, with a darker tone and aesthetic (hopefully not the tired middle-ages) is something I could really use and that S-E could really benefit from, as it'd be different from the very manga-ish aesthetic of DQ, the cartoonish one in KH and the... weird things modern FFs usually do. Especially if it had a more classic-inspired art design, like:
