Happy Birthday to Tabata indeed.

Hope he's getting at least some form of rest on his birthday cause, damn he looks exhausted as hell. Even more so than before the launch.

I wonder if it's got anything to do with the strenuous deadlines, mountain loads of updates and new additions to the game, and managing a whole goddamn floor of employees...?

...Nah. Can't be.

I think it's just the lighting you guys. They're using Japanese light bulbs after all. It's a whole different ball game than the lights here in the west. Any man and his team who have the freedom to create content at their own pace with no deadline looming over their heads has no reason to be tired at all.

Yeah, I remember him saying several times that he was relying on two-to-three hours sleep during the development's crunch moments. I'd be collapsing from just a few nights of that. You've got to admire his drive.

If that was before launch, I wonder what it's like now?

Seriously he looks very haggard there. That ain't a good thing.

There are plenty of good, great, and bad games that have needed to bow to a company's needs. If SQEX tried to pursue the perfect game regardless of time and budget, they'd probably have gone bankrupt over a decade ago.

I don't think XV was rushed. They did what they could in the time available, and to achieve the best audience possible. And the DLC is more along the lines of creating what they sadly needed to leave on the drawing board. We should count ourselves lucky that SQEX isn't Konami or EA. Metal Gear and Silent Hill have suffered from the former, and Goichi Suda was brought to tears by the latter.
Realistically, with today's standards, it's impossible to create the perfect product. Game developers should always strive to create better, but not aim for perfection as that would be the means of an end.

i've gotta say i'm very dissapointed by the lack of cosmetic dlcs for FFXV; no costumes, new car models, or even music for the radio (florence/omen trailer).

wtf are they waiting for

I personally wish they gave out more dynamic themes for the game (not the pre-order one). Feels like they slipped on that.

Random question: Do you guys think Ring Magic is decent or broken atm?
From what I saw and read about it:

Alterma
can practically one shoot everything in the game.
Death has a very low hardcap (500 magic) for the upgrade it got.

Save for holy, that seens to be well balanced, the Ring is broken at the moment.

I think the Ring is fine.

It's meant to be an OP weapon if you ask me. Otherwise, it wouldn't be a very good end game item with the reputation of being the Ring of the Lucii, a ring that contains the powers of all the past Kings.

If I don't want to one shot enemies, I just do combat as normal. When I cbf, I use the Ring.

The ring magic is okay for me. The effect looks pretty good and therefore I use often.
But I wish there were more magic like flare (okay theres flare in the Game but it looks just like normal firega, it should include magma and more lighting).
Also more ring magic. ultima is missing I mean we have alterna which looks epic so many effects, so why not something like this for ultima.
Meteor was also in type0 just a summoned One Big meteor or many small ones.
So im half satisfied half dissapointed about the ring magic.

Found this leak for E3 Talks about FFXV ATR, as well as KH3 and FFVII remake news presented by Nomura
"More surprises". That sounds intriguing, and since it's part of the same presentation, it's probably related to work he's doing rather than unrelated SQEX projects. I wonder if it'll be pre-recorded, or whether Nomura will be there in person. Last time Nomura appeared at E3 was in 2013.

Also, Dragon Quest XI! If it's at E3, that's pretty much saying they'll localise it. DQ fans will be cockahoop. I'm interested into what they'll be making of Octopath Traveller, and who knows what unannounced goodies will be there.

I still remember 2015. Lara Croft Go, I Am Setsuna, Nier Automata, World of Final Fantasy, Star Ocean 5 (albeit the latter turned out to be a complete dud). Who knows, maybe 2017 is their next golden year.

Well, that's random (for me, at least. Haven't been in the forum for quite a few weeks). There have also been some other rumours regarding KH3 today or yesterday, I believe.

Even if it's not true, it wouldn't be too surprising, as KH3 is basically guaranteed to be there (we should have gotten news in fucking Winter, but I guess FF XV's delay made them think that through, especially if the game is truly having problems/it's still far away) and VII-Remake has a big probability of doing the same, all things considered.

PS: that "more surprises" screams of Dissidia or collabs with other games. Or maybe even some producing role in a smaller title, although I'd say he has enough work as it is right now, and he's not precisely delivering fast.
