It's actually better than those two, the cg was well done and the movie is really good, it's far from beign "mediocre"
Did you just say that Kingsglavie is better than Zootopia? In terms of story no, characters no, music no

Also I disagree I found everyone in Kingsglavie apart from Nyx to be pretty boring actually and the fight scenes were ok they pale in comparison to Advent Children

Cut content falls into the other side of the park where ''the grass is always greener on the other side''. It's a form of bias mentality where in most cases the person is completely unaware of it themselves. Whatever you don't have, you wish to gain, so to see cut content, be it better or worse, you simply want it because it's something new that you don't have. But in the jest of it, the logical train of thought becomes lost as one becomes too fixated on what something is not to make it become something that is.

In an alternate reality where the contents have been reversed, what ''is'' here is ''is not'' there and people would still fall into the same spiral of wanting greener grass.

(?)
I don't know about that I don't exactly seeing people clamoring for Tony Redgrave Resident Evil 4 Devil May Cry Edition, especially after the sour reaction to the Resident Evil movies and 5 and 6 by god if Resident Evil 4 continued it's original vision it would have given RE fans an ulcer.

No this isn't just the case of cut content no this is a case of saying hey look at this cool game we are making, people get invested in this cool game they are making wait several years because Square is a damn mess at AAA development, get a bunch of awesome looking trailers, rumors of the game getting cancelled, outrage at the supposed cancellation, then Square going don't worry bruh this game is still coming out, then they make the Versus XIII to XV Trailer which is basically DON'T worry this game is still coming out with all the stuff you looked forward too, keeping that same narrative for an entire year then they decide ok changing director which understandably caused people to panic but nah Tabata was like I'm just finishing up this game trying to calm people down to the fear that it won't be the game they wanted to play.

Then changes upon changes saying don't worry, don't worry it's still Versus XIII, Tabata saying in an interview no less hahah I can't talk Stella yet, but don't worry guys it's still Versus XIII here you have the final result

In terms of story i liked both, characters i liked more kingsglaive, and music i liked more kingsglaive.
For Advent Children, Kingsglaive is way better, and was done way better, cg>>>>>>>, characters were great, especially Nyx and Regis, music also great.
You can prefer one over the other but sure thing Kingsglaive is nowhere "mediocre" and you can't deny the cg is superior

summary from Koozek (on neogaf):

Q: Too bad that the latter half of the game is so rushing. And I felt that the story or setting weren’t well explained, and we have to gather information from other places (or universe) to understand what’s going on. Those who love to swing by some places could enjoy the game, but I would hesitate to recommend this game for people who just enjoy the story.

A: (There were lots of off the record tips, but points are) We know people point out these things, and as the dev team we take this seriously even before the release date. This has been the biggest issue for the team. There are lots of things that we couldn’t put into the game even though we wanted to.

It would have been better if we could put these things in the main story, but there were only so much we could do. We will strengthen the parts that have been left out via updates and DLCs, and we would appreciate it if you could play along for long. However, it takes time and money to develop, and we put priority on the things with strong demand.

Q: When compared to Episode Prompto, Episode Gladio can’t stand a chance when it comes to the volume of the episode. I feel really sorry for Gladio.

A: Among the DLC episodes that had been decided to be released after the game is released, the team picked up Episode Gladio for the first release. Episode Gladio got the shortest developing time period, the team hasn’t got used to working on the system and all, and the team focused on speedy gameplay. Hence the lack in volume compared to Episode Prompto.

Episode Ignis will deliver the story of Ignis, of course, and the core of the main story. The dev team has been working on it pushing their limit. It’s still under development but the story made me cry, said Tabby.

To Ravus, the empire is just an ally and he can’t count on Lucis (possibly because he has grudge and complicated feelings toward the kingdom). He can’t be an oracle because it is for women only. He has been fighting all alone. Please look forward to his story.

The dev team has been creating something for an anniversary of Kingsglaive. The detail could be released on Twitter sometime around July 9, so please wait a bit more. (The tweeter saw the “something” and s/he was impressed.)

Okay, so I've decided to try FFXV: A New Empire (the mobile game) personally so that you guys wouldn't have too, and all I can say is that it's... absolutely awful. I'm not even trying to be dramatic, it's genuinely terrible, even by mobile freemium standards.

But since it seems to have a fairly aggressive marketing campaign, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it ended up being more popular than FFXV proper.

Does it? Outside of a twitter announcement I don't see that much advertising for this mobile game (unless I'm missing something).
Well, I've been seeing the ads a lot on Facebook and other places, and it's at the front of Google Play store.

Also from our favourite journalist's article:
several people I know in the Final Fantasy community were offered hundreds of dollars to write about the game

Graphics wise sure the CG is superior as in FFXV has better graphics than FFXIII sure.
In Kingsglaive Regis was barely in it he didn't leave much of an impression on me he just was meh, the music was ok I only found one track memorable, characters? Nyx is decent the rest are just ok, Glauca looked cool, but as a character he pales in comparison to Sephiroth, Kadaj, Loz, or Yazoo.
Also no Kingsglaive isn't even in Zootopia's domain in terms of quality, it's not even close to being as memorable.

On a side note though Zootopia does the X-MEN persecution better than the damn X-MEN movies.

I disagree but to each his own, sure thing it's not "mediocre" at all as well as you need to rewatch the movie cause Regis wasn't "barely" in it at all.
Also most of the songs were memorable, Chris Greening of Video Game Music Online even said "when compared to Advent Children, the score to Kingsglaive is darker and more cinematic, setting a refreshing precedent for any future Final Fantasy films" and it's indeed true.

Now I am really looking forward to Episode Ignis!

A separate story for Ravus too perhaps? I am very ok with this.

Yes, yes, all of this should've been in the game to begin with. We've all heard this said a million times already and the answer will always be the same.

We've always known that they wanted to add in more stuff for the game but time restraints didn't allow them too.

Knowing this, why would some people keep asking the same question? There was literally nothing they could do to prevent it.

3 years full development time was all the team got, and when you count in programming issues, things breaking unexpectedly, scenario reworks, things take a lot longer to create than one would think.

You can't stop or slow down time after all so the people complaining it should've been added in? Think for a second.

I'm just happy that they're going to be adding it all in eventually.

Now with that said, the appropriate question to be asking at this point in time given the situation is what it is now is how much time, money and resources are they going to be allocating to adding in all these updates?

Will these updates finally make the story fulfill its potential?

These are the questions people should be asking. Not shit that is long past and out of the devs hands.

@Storm thanks for sharing. I'm busy of late and don't have the time to scour the web searching for this stuff. Much appreciated.

Mmmm, what could it be? It can't be outfits (the bros already have Glaive uniforms) nor weapons (Every member uses daggers exclusively...for reasons, and the game already has Nyx's weapon)

Tabata repeatedly said it is not the same game as Versus anymore, stop talking out of your ass.
