Also, does anyone think that the story updates will be coming by the end of this month?

Or sometime next year?

They always have new features in their updates, so I'm wondering what this month's update will be?
I'm definitely thinking the hunt update will be this month. Not sure about the cutscenes. They didn't mention anything else in that trailer, but I'm assuming the ATR will clarify most things in 2 days. I'm not sure how long it takes to make story related content but I'm sure it takes much less time than any of the 3 DLC's were new character mechanics had to be added.

I know the unrealistic fan expects these updates to have 5+ hours of new cutscenes to be filled in with 20 more hours of story content, but what we'll probably end up getting close to an hour of good stuff.

Chapter 13 v. 2 was added pretty quickly into the game and it contained like 25-30 minutes of gameplay along with it. I just want clarification on how this is going to be approached.

Yeah it would be great if they gave us more clarity on how they're going to approach this.

Personally, I'd rather they take their time with the story updates. If I have to wait until next year for all of the stuff to be delivered and done to the best of the team's ability, then I'm fine with waiting.

ATR in 13 hours.

hopefully they don't focus too much on merchandise.

about the cutscenes discussion, like i said in another thread, individually each new story content might feel short and weak, but playing the game in a new game+ with all the new scenes and dlcs will be like playing the definitive version of the game (FFXV's Final Mix).

playing each piece alone won't bring satisfaction; also the Mr's Happy interview i posted a few weeks ago, mentioned the new story updates:

Q1.) In the March update players were given a deeper look into the events of Chapter 13 from Gladio’s perspective. Will we see more gameplay segments like this in future updates?

"Though it doesn’t take place from the perspective of the buddies, we’re scheduled to have some updates that will delve deeper into the events in the game with more detail. These updates have existed as a part of our update roadmap to further enhance the experience of the game."

i don't know if he means in a story perspective, or gameplay perspective but yeah, there's a chance that i'll be just cutscenes.

Yea seriously, we'll need clarification on this. I mean, here's the thing. Everything that Noctis and crew encountered and had to do was fine to me. What was mostly the issue was the lack of context during major events because cutscenes outside of the main character's perspective rarely existed in the main game. If this is what they are focusing on, then thats absolutely great and I can't wait to see it. I do wonder how these events are triggered though. Are they before or after specific cutscenes? Will there be new/small gameplay segments? Part of that roadmap specifically states enhancing the second half of the game, which I'm assuming doesn't just mean cutscenes, but gameplay as well.

I'm expecting them to go reshow the TGS XV universe trailer and talk about the FFXV cafe event at Artina that just started up again last week, talking about Pocket edition, the VR, Kings Knight, the PC version, comrades a bit and some episode Ignis stuff and some of the next updates, I doubt they will spend the entire time talking about just Ep Ignis and the story updates, they will talk about the other stuff too since that did that in previous ATRs too.

interesting interview by Finaland with the french voice team (a bit old)
Finaland: In this regard, did the scenario change during your work?

Olivier Daubry: There were a lot of recorded scenes that were not actually used. Iedolas, voiced by Vincent Grasse, there really was a great potential and in the end he did not even have two scenes. Verstael (Jean-Claude Donda), we recorded twice and in the end he has only 4 dialogues in the game. Dave also who was supposed to be the charismatic leader of the hunters was not very well integrated. It is more of a disappointment compared to the work we have done.

Bruno Meyere: When you record you can’t know who is going to be important or not. We have an organizational chart but we do not know the place of each character, we discover them as we go. We send our records on a day-to-day basis, there is validation or not, and sometimes we are asked to add a replica or other. Laurent has done a remarkable job starting from the Japanese version.
i think based on what we know we can certainly say that FFXV is a condensed FFXV.

I prefer this cleaner translated transcript bit:

Olivier Daubry :

Il y a eu énormément de scènes qu’on a enregistrées et qui n’ont pas été utilisées en fait.

There were really many scenes we recorded but were not used, actually.

Ledolas, doublé par Vincent Grasse, il y avait vraiment un super truc à faire et au final il n’a même pas deux scènes.

Ledolas, dubbed by Vincent Grasse, he really had a super thing to do and in the end he has less than two scenes.

Verstael, on a enregistré deux fois et au final il a 4 répliques dans le jeu.

Verstael, we recorded twice and in the end he has 4 lines in the game.

Dave aussi qui était censé être le chef charismatique des chasseurs n’a pas été forcément bien intégré.

Dave too, who was supposed to be the charismaric chief of the hunters, has not been really well integrated either.

I still haven't forgotten about that footage of Noctis fighting the CEO of SE. I will still be willing to pay for that. I really hope that wasn't just for private lawls :(.

@Nova as well, I do feel like they'd finally use some of their dialogue as well for extra scenes. The lack of both were some of the biggest criticisms the game had. I also feel like dialogue is done before most of the scene creation, so now perhaps it would be a better time to do it since they don't have a deadline. Though, Episode Prompto and Ch 13 v2 definitely fixed some of those issues. Man i'm excited, one more hour.

Monster of the Deep VR had a demo at TGS, here is a general impression: https://kotaku.com/goin-fishing-with-a-crossbow-in-final-fantasy-xv-vr-1818646923/amp

The most interesting part:
Once you hook your fish, you can imagine the drill: Pull back on one Move controller, spin the other to reel the fish in, occasionally pull to the left or the right when you see arrows appear on the screen. It’s pretty much every fishing game. Once you pull up a fish, though, you can hold it in your hand and admire it from all angles until you drop it into your net. At one point, the game showed me on camera, sitting on the bench in the PlayStation booth, and superimposed my recently-caught fish into my hand so I could snap a picture of my “catch.”

Updating what i see here. I am in no way a translator. I can loosely interpret what I hear and can read, but thats it.

So far comrades is looking good. Will single player and multiplayer quests with different features. Apparently some of the stuff will focus on the 13 kings (Lucii).

13 classes in the game (we knew this). But it also shows that there is a LOT of new spells. Even some old Episode Duscae combat as well.

And I mean ALOT. Like i just saw a new cheer-type spell that buffs you and your comrades.'

New Daemons, a crossbow user. Works like other guns.

Quests have multiple hunts/layers to them. Started out fighting the new Daemons in waves, then a King Behemoth.

You pick up actual drops after the fight. Or something.

Something about the music with Uematsu, nothing important. I'm assuming it was the song made for Comrades.

The Comrades representative leaves the stage, Tabata comes out. Hopefully some good stuff. About the FFXV Universe next.

Talking about the Windows Version, about Mods. Not sure if anything new, they didn't show anything.

Next is King's Knight. Nothing really important here either. Same with Monsters of The Deep.

Dissidia NT- Noct's inclusion. Just a small tidbit here about him being in the game

Noct's inclusion in that weird FF 30th anniversary board game they showed.

TONS of talking that i dont understand (Edit: According to another user on the chat, he plans on releasing more content after ignis (yay!)

Ah, Episode Ignis, talked a lot

Talking about the roadmap. I think theres a lot of important info here. Hopefully we get a translation soon.

Apparently next year will be focusing on enhancing the main story. Reiterated that Ardyn and Luna won the results.

Thats it. I think Tabata said a lot of imporant things. Hopefully someone translates.

All in all, he basically confirmed that there will be more content next year. He reiterated that several times apparently.

Some translations from a Neogaf user:
Below was the schedule:

1. Online Comrades new info
2. FFXV Universe related info
3. Way ahead

Comrades:
Closed test was held in August, and system and balance and all were checked.
Scenes be shown today will be almost master version.
Multi play quest
Single play quest
Plenty of quest are ready. You can get gil, items and all
Multiplay allows you to go with AI friends
You can customize weapons.
Refugees in Lucis. You can set them as a leader of a town
You can choose one of former kings and order him/her something, it seems.
Roles like healer and all.
Skills. Jump, Airstep, provoking agression, and defense
You can cheer on (enhance) buddies.
Provoking aggression comes in handy. Buddies can focus on attacking, not defensing

Universe:

Nothing important

Future:
It's been 10 months since the game was released. Huge thanks from the team :)

Sales is pretty well

Many fans are still playing and enjoying the game,

In the trailer of Episode Ignis, you can see how the story goes in it. The last DLC (apologies that I don't quite get what the last means)

They've been mulling over is it really okay to make Episode Ignis the last DLC on FFXV.

As survey showed, fans are waiting for more stories.

Deepening the story of FFXV is what the fans want, and the dev team WILL work on it, and KEEP DELIVERING contents in 2018

they'll deliver what's been left out from the FFXV story.

The are planning on completing the story and making it full!
