It happens when few people care. They insisted it was impossible for the game to have an offline mode when it launched, yet here we are.

The engine they've built for this game has so much potential - I really enjoyed the time I spent with it, clogged up roads/driving AI cock-ups aside. Sadly, though, they've kneecapped the game. The online was one kneecap, but the other is just that they've targeted low-end PCs so hard that even if you're on a high-end PC you can't run larger simulations. The cities are too small, cap out, get boring. It's a shame.

Still worth a few hours if you can grab it cheap, mind.

I agree. The biggest problem with that game is how small the towns are. Someone showed how they were able to hack the game to make giant cities that filled the entire landscape, but obviously that isn't ideal and it has a ton of caveats associated with it. Really, what it comes down to is that EA made a game inferior to SimCity 4 in many respects.
