The legendary Yoshinori Kitase began his career at Square in 1990 with his first titles being Final Fantasy Adventure & Romancing SaGa before he was promoted to a writer on Final Fantasy V and then a director on Final Fantasy VI and Chrono Trigger before directing Final Fantasy VII & Final Fantasy VIII on his own.
He was then promoted once again and was in charge of Square's #1 division where he made Motomu Toriyama his successor. Kitase produced Final Fantasy X & Final Fantasy X-2 and was co-producer for both Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts II to name a few. He also served as producer or executive producer on all titles in the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII. We went on to serve as producer for Dissidia Final Fantasy, The 3rd Birthday & Final Fantasy Type-0 to name a few.
More recently, he was the producer for the Final Fantasy XIII series & Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster.
Right now he's serving as the head of Square Enix's #1 division and is producer for AAA mobile title, Mobius Final Fantasy along with Final Fantasy VII Remake. Additionally, if Motomu Toriyama is not working on Final Fantasy VII Remake for some reason than he is also producing a Motomu Toriyama title.
