The Savior's Words lyrics
To the scarlet streak of light
To the one that breaks the silence
You illuminate the night
In most awe-inspiring ways
Sent up from high above
A name like a precious poem
Let me sing this song to you
Gracious savior of our souls
So the weapon of the final boss can be obtained for use by Lightning? Well, that's just plain awesome.
So in other news, I actually have in my possession HQ direct screenshots of many of the items you can have within the game. Garb, weapons, shields, decorations, and a few scenes (As well as some lower-quality offscreen shots). Debating whether I should post them here, where they will be lost pretty quickly should discussion pick up, or in a new thread dubbed "Lightning Returns Collection List". The import players I have contact with have been kind of... Well, busy of late so I haven't received any new material in over a week.
Yep, by defeating the final boss in Hard Mode.
Here are the stats, though it has been upgraded: http://img15.hostingpics.net/pics/54013720131218095528.jpg
wow that weapon with that garb looks so cool but if you only get this after you defeat the boss in hard mode then this will be quite the work
Can somebody tell me how many side quests are in the game?
There are 66 sidequests in total excluding the text-based board quests from Chocolina. However, you can only do 65 sidequests per playthrough, because in order to do one of them, you must fail one quest. If you complete it, then you won't be able to do the second part. If you fail it, you will be able to do the second part, but the first part is failed.
Thanks for the fast answer so are these board quests from Chocolina a lot too? Because if I compare the number of quests with the number of fragments you have to find in XIII-2 then there are not that many sidequests. (But still look really forward to do them )
So I have another question to the ones that already played the Japanese version. How fast did the monsters die out? I know that it probably depends on the monster itself but did you feel that it was way to fast or do you need to fight a lot of regular monsters before they become extinct? It would be sad if you fight many of them at the beginning and then they cease to exist and you walk through a void world.
I think a new thread would be better.
There are 83 board quests. That depends on the speed you kill the monsters, really. The most disappointing part about it is that there are only 40-odd enemies from the pool of enemies, which is kind of limited and these enemies continue to recur throughout main quests, side quests, the open world and even the coliseum.
You never had contact with me and here i am.... waiting =(
So, silly question or not but just to be sure, you do not get any Eradia from Chocolina's questing board, right? Only Eradia from the main character stuff and NPC quests?
Welp, after a 69-hour playthrough time, I completed Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII. And I loved it. A quick rating would be about a, hmm...a solid 8/10, easy.
do you think its better than XIII or XIII-2?
I thought it was better than XIII-2 for sure. FFXIII? Eh...I mean, it's hard to beat the nostalgia, and there's a few things that I think LR missed the mark on that FFXIII hit. And that would be the story.
How I've rated the three games in my head is:
FFXIII - 9/10
FFXIII-2 - 7/10
LR - 8/10
Some new points:
The music is easily my favorite from the XIII series, and even though FFXIII and XIII-2 tracks are reused more than I'd like, there's still so many tracks that it doesn't matter.
The battle system, as usual, is great. It's fast, fluid, fun, and requires more skill than, at the very least, FFXIII-2. Maybe even FFXIII-2 in post-credits gameplay.
The doomsday clock/time-driven concept of the game was integrated well for the most part, but, BUT. It can be a bit annoying if a quest NPC you need to talk to only appears at, say, 15:00 and you miss it by 15:01. That can be annoying, as well as those timed doors in the Dead Dunes dungeons. However, it also gives the game a sense of movement. And thankfully, you're given plenty of time to do all main story quests and side quests with plenty of time to spare.
Art direction deserves a tip of the hat in this one, as well. I particularly liked Luxerion and Yusnaan, etc.
When I've got a bit more time I'd like to post a few more of my after-thoughts.
New gameplay video from n472a (action games fanatic)
Damn, they're pretty good.
And 0:44 that was so a "b*tch, get outta my face."
Interesting trivia about Titan:
LR has full of those things like...
Dead Dunes - Atomos, Atlus's hand
The Wildlands - Etro's Gate-like thingy
I hope they'll be interactive, or at least having datalog entries.
