Why aren't publishers releasing PS2 Classics?

Publishers were quite keen to release games as PSOne Classics but they haven't been for PS2 Classics. And sure, a big reason why is the big games get HD remasters but there's plenty of quality titles that aren't in a position to recieve that sort of treatment so PS2 Classics are required.

Time, money and lack of resources. That's really what it boils down to.

Sony has pretty stellar PS1 emulation. On PSP custom firmware, you can throw all sorts of unsupported titles at it, which run without a hitch.
I'm not sure if the same is true for the PS2.

Don't think that PS2 can properly run an emulator.
