thats actually a pretty good theory, indeed the lighting gets red sometimes in Comrades but never associated it with the Nidus dying, maybe they are related.

he definitely knows something about the story (related to certain characters) and, in his opinion, that something is going to be divisive (unless it gets changed before release, which he suspects it may happen).
What are those nidus??
Are They appearing in comrades? Because i didn't played it.

It was said in the last direct stream that they have some surprise for the second aniversary.
Tbh even if they said that, I have a hard time believing they'll be able to make that deadline. I'm sure it's still coming but much like what transpired with the Comrades updates it might not come when they're saying it'll come. Guess we'll see when the day finally comes but for now I'm personally just not hyping myself over BD2's promises until they actually start showing something.

I can only handle so much disappointment before I get fed up so better to be pleasantly surprised instead, at least in my books. lol

Yeah, I was wondering about it too.

Like, if it tied into what he was complaining about months ago as well. Dunno if he means the story, or just something generally bad because he was complaining about recycling last we spoke beyond the Bahamut thing.

Sylva talking about this on Reddit got brought up in a few other places too, saw a few people talking about business practices with questions like what amount of cut content restored would balance out recycling or existing content usage in things.

Though he's been on the money for the majority of stuff he's spoken about. Just thinking about the conversations about paying for things, I gotta say I am really curious because it seems like most people seem to agree the next dlc will probably be more expensive and Sylva's said he doesn't want to pay for stuff he's pulled out, like the royal vessel and the regalia.

Can only guess if he's talking about the story, or if it's another thing at the moment I guess unless someone can shake it out of him.

Why won't he say?

because it could be a big spoiler for future story content + he thinks it may change or something.

he wasnt too specific, as you can see.
Probably wants to prevent unnecessary pandemonium in the community as well. I still remember how pissed people got when the Royal Pack stuff came out and it took a bit to find all the stuff included in it. Caused a bunch of commotion about false advertisement or cut content and whatnot. People jump to too many conclusion far too fast and some communities just thrive on outrage so he likely wants to avoid sparking a bunch of premature riots across the various forums.

Yeah, especially since the playable Lunafreya content was held back from the Royal Pack in favor of her DLC Episode which has yet to be released. Sylva is right to not say anything about it, and a lot of that stuff could've been found sooner if the Royal Pack was advertised better, as I recall in the Royal Pack discussion thread back in March, a lot of us were wondering if we were playing an 'alpha' version of the Royal Pack, when in the end, the majority of it was just miss-able and hidden.

Yeah, that's pretty much the thing because I know he got asked to not say stuff was true and could change. If a small teaser happens, he might change his mind but I'm just assuming he might want to share.

I know he's pissed off about the royal vessel and Regalia still being in it prior to the dlc pack, and I think he'll be pissed off if it's the same thing with Luna too.

It's kinda hard to figure out what the problem is, plus there's the other thing of different opinions. Sylva might think something is bad, but other people might praise it to hell and back.

I get where Sylva's coming from about the vessel, Regalia and Luna stuff though. My opinion kinda falls the same way so that's why I'm curious. Super curious because there's been a lot of talk about the things he posted on Reddit before, and there's been a lot of talk about what's like the line on things so with that and what he's complained about for months, I gotta say it'd suck if it had a lot of stuff already in the game.

Like I dunno, saw a few people talking about how there's not a bunch of different enemies in the dlc so far and that there was concern about that being the same in the new dlc.

Yeah, I don't blame Sylva for being upset about it. Although, the Royal Vessel and Regalia being in the game before the Royal Pack does interest me, perhaps the four DLC Episodes could recycle and bring some of the stuff that was cut in the paste-bins that were posted in some way, even if isn't the exact same as it could get modified to fit into the finalized story we currently have, almost like trying to get the story closer to what Tabata could've had in mind, but I doubt it, as it depends on how old some of the cut content, such as the cut Chapter 10 dialogue, are.

Now knowing that this is possible, I don't remember who said isn't... It would be great that when the 4 new dlc's come out, they also announce a complete version of FFXV on 2 discs. I would love it!

And hopefully add back other small details from earlier builds like EP Duscae where the game looked more detailed but had to be scaled back due to disc space limitations.

Why do people think Ep Duscae looked more detailed? It has less draw distance, lower texture res, less/no texture filtering, rocks were less detailed and looked different, and had a greasy vaseline bloom smear filter to hide the 900p res and TAA, the grass also looked way more patchy and the ground texture tile when seen from high up looked way worse than the final. Ep Duscae imo looked worse than the 2014 TGS trailer/Walkthrough vid Duscae, which is the Duscae most people talk about when talking about missing the old Duscae look, and compared to the final game Ep Duscae didn't look as detailed as that either. This was even apparent back when the game first came out.

The final game even added more vegetation to the area, the main difference in the environments look was it no longer had the vaseline bloom filter, but that's less about detail and more about the filters color grading, which is why Ep Duscae looked more dull and muted color wise compared to the final Duscae. Other than that the particle effects were changed but that's also less about detail and more of an aesthetic change. Like how Noctis's weapon summoning particles in 2014 compared to how it was in 2013, and changed again in 2014 to 2015, and again in 2016, but I highly doubt that was changed due to performance, otherwise... explain Ep Ignis v2 with full power of the ring loool.

They also removed the vignette filter around the edges that was in Ep Duscae which also helped in making the final image look more vibrant, I remember seeing a lot of people complain about the vignette in Ep Duscae.

It's pretty obvious that bloom vaseline filter on Ep Duscae was there for just that because if you break out of bounds in the Ep Duscae and go far enough that filter disables and you see the regular sky and color grading, so that filter was only applied to the playable area of Ep Duscae for the sake of the demo. I can see how some might prefer the more dull muted color grading of Ep Duscae over the more vibrant colors of the final, but to think it was more detailed than what's in the final? Nah fampaitachi

while I prefer 2014's visuals, Duscae is still more beautiful aesthetically than the final game (also the color grade doesnt seem to change in that video, just the skybox).

what you call "dull" I call "realistic, darker and grittier", giving the game a cinematic and CG feel to it; and the vibrant colors + lighting used in vanilla only made the game look cartoonish and flat in my perspective.

its not about details for me, which of course are inferior in the demo (save for a few stuff, like the water reflections or the crisp particles), its about the artistic choices.

edit:

for comparison sake

both are from final game, second has different lighting similar to Duscae, but same details; first is overly bright and flat looking borderline cartoonish, the second is way more appealing and realistic imo.

Ep Dudcae did have better details in certain parts, like I said, other than better particle effects it had better clothing textures, water effects, hair details/depth, more reflective metallic surfaces, better depth perception indoors, more environmental details (like flies around light sources in the forest at night), and better interaction with environmental objects (like Noct’s feet actually touching rocks he’s standing on, while in the final game half the time his feet are floating above a rock he’s standing on, for an easy comparison), more realistic lighting source, and more enemy specific party animations. Considering the game’s story is so minimalistic, it’s the small things like that which make the game throughout its course more enjoyable. Sure, other technical aspects improved in the final build like draw distance, but an overall nicer artistic or aesthetic feel the game had was lost by comparison to the demo.
