I guess the dlc plays independently of the main game and there's no way to acces through story right?

Is the dlc playable if you haven't finished the game or does it spoil it like Episode Ignis? I planed to make my friends play it in chapter 14 before reaching Insomnia.

Yeah selected from the title screen like the others, and I would not play this one until after beating the game. It shows the same scenes of Noctis sacrificing himself that EI does.

Your opinion, is this the best dlc for final fantasy xv?
Haven't played it myself yet but from what I've seen, yes. The combat and the specific bosses you face alone makes it a contender for some of the best content in FFXV. RE felt like a way more fitting finale to FFXV as a whole, so in that regard it's a bit disappointing. But on its own Episode Ardyn looks incredible.

EDIT: Though repetitiveness in Insomnia may be a big criticism people have against it.

I think I'll be fine with the 'repetitiveness' as long as I traverse the rooftops and city streets available and see Ardyn in action. I loved the Royal Pack DLC, and still do, but Episode Ardyn, from what I saw, rather unfortunately due to spoilers, looked even better from what I saw, but my overall opinion of it will form when I get my hands on it myself, but this is just my opinion, let me be clear, as I love Ardyn. In a sense, I see Episode Ardyn as a fitting 'prologue'.

From what you saw

Do you feel Final Fantasy 15 now complete?

Do you now feel better about Final Fantasy 15?

Unless you specifically felt poorly about Ardyn or Ifrit I do not believe this DLC will make you feel any better about FFXV than you already do. FFXV was complete on day one in my opinion, everything since has only made it better for me.

Not gonna lie though, even though the DLC itself looks great in terms of content and story I'm a bit salty about the rather shitty rewards in the main game. I expected more in that regard. Nothing super crazy but not as meh as what we ended up getting either.

I guess those rewards were the price to pay for what may be a great DLC Episode in a sense.

Idk, I don't think it would've been hard for them to give us a better outfit as the current one just seems meh to me and I also think we could've been given a better weapon/ability. Oh well. I think once I play this I'm ready to put FFXV behind me and take a nice, long break from it. It'll be good to come back to some time later with fresh eyes and maybe even a new perspective once the current fatigue wears off.

So... no Somnus outfit for Noct? It would've been a far better look for him than that awkwardly fitting ardyn outfit and I would've greatly preferred the scythe to just another sword to add to the pile tbh.

I really hope they announce one final patch at the ATR or something because this is really underwhelming.
To be fair, I wanted an Ardyn outfit, but I digress as this is my opinion. At least the DLC looked great, and sometimes rewards don't mean anything to me at the end of the day.

Wow, that completion reward...
'Ardyn's Ensemble' looks ridiculous on Noctis' more diminutive frame and it's a missed opportunity that the fedora and wing can't be toggled on - in the model file both are present, just like for Ardyn's original model. I can't help but imagine that the Ardyn outfit was ported to Avatara before being locked as Noctis-only when they realized they needed something for the main game.

I'm not sure what extra data console might have gotten in the much larger patch they received (aside from Ep. Ardyn assets), but I'm hoping the ATR will have a few nice final additions, which will likely include a few things they added back in December.
Specifically, the 'Summer Attire' costumes for the bros. Plus there's the 'Low-poly' and 'Pocket Edition' costumes that were directly added into the character folders, so to me at least that means those official mods are likely coming to console as well.

It's going to be 5-6 hours for me to be able to download the episode.
Has anyone tried to finish the game with the episode downloaded/finished, to see if anything changes?
