The fact Nomura stepped down as main director can lead to even more drastic changes in the story. Also this isn't FFVIIR project anymore, its a new compilation entirely.

I wouldn't be surprised if Ever Crisis releases in pieces, considering that it covers the entire compilation and... mobile. Anyway all this stuff reeks of FFVII Compilation 2 and honestly, the milking is pretty evident (how many OST albums again!?). The project already entails 3-4 parts...

I agree that SQ dropped the ball in the story department in multiple occasions. But I dunno, FFVIIR hit harder. FFXIII-2 for example, was a KH fiesta from the start and promoted that way, while FFVIIR its like: "oh they got it this time", then the ending happens. Its so abrupt and it partially...

More than the craziness itself its really the execution that put me off with the direction. It reeks of KH so bad. And while Advent Children and CC went off the rails, it wasn't at this extent.

It definitely isn't just a remake, for better or worse.
