Final Fantasy X tends to be seen, for better or for worse, as a game that's generally antagonistic towards religion. I've always felt, however, that this is a bit reductive, even if the game sometimes does take some cheap shots.

As such, I've put together a pair of videos that analyze the ways in which the nature of Yevon reflects a much more compelling understanding of religion -- the understanding of Rene Girard.

I have completed and uploaded my second video for anyone interested in watching. This one will explore the connections between Yu Yevon and the understanding of archaic religion developed by Rene Girard, as well as the connections between the conflict between Tidus and Jecht and Rene Girard's understanding of desire.
