Oh..boy, as a big NARUTO fan i´m already shaking with horror about this idea, after seeing things such as Dragon Ball Evolution and The Last Airbender.
However, this could turn out to be (at the very least) a decent adaptation provide they do one of the followings:

- Use the themes, world and lore of the source material but create an original storyline, for ex: a story resolving around Naruto´s life and how he deals with the village discrimination and hate torwards him.
- Adapt only The Land of Wave arc, that arc as a self contain story works perfectly.
