It hasn't been talked about since the name change, Final Fantasy Versus XIII now into Final Fantasy XV. Do you think the games main vocal theme will be Somnus or will they get a Japanese artist to create a song that's more in tune to previous titles? I love Somnus but if a new theme was decided I wouldn't rage, I'd give it a chance.

Don't forget to vote in the poll, discuss! :- )

The vocal themes do really well promotionally in Japan, so I'd imagine there'll be a more typical theme, even if Somnus is the main driving force of the game's OST.

I hope that if this is the case they actually localize the song for the West rather than just licensing something equivalent as with FF13 and Leona Lewis.

@APZonerunner: I agree. I love My Hands but I found it rather disappointing they did that. It would have been more appropriate if Leona Lewis sung an English version of Kimi Ga Irukara, but they just took a song from Leona Lewis album and called it a day. On top of that they didn't even find a replacement for Eternal Love. All this is very curious because they then change the lyrics to Serah's Theme, which was already English in the Japanese game....

@yeah_93: Haha Okay, but yes I know get's a lot of hate. Honestly it's a really beautiful song. I still would have preferred an English version of Kimi Ga Irukara, they could have gotten Leona lewis to sing it. Also if it was impossible to translate then why not keep it like Final Fantasy X Suteki Da Ne.

I really like Somnus, so I hope they keep it as the main vocal theme. Though I wouldn't be surprised if they included another vocal theme or if they created a song specifically for Japanese TV commercials.

Somnus still fits the game's sad story. I hope they don't change it. That Hopkins lady is a good singer.
It's not confirmed to be a sad story though. That being said, some of the trailers do show hints towards a story inspired by Shakespeare's Macbeth, which is admittedly a tragic story.

It is. I can't remember which interview, though, but I do remember them saying it will have player crying.

Yeah it's like a action tragic story. All the elements of class FF storytelling will be there, but Nomura said when he did the base story he was to drill home the point about dealing with hardship and bonding with those around to get thru it. That's why he want a realistic (at least in JPN) group of friends for ol' Noct to interact with. Most, except Cor is a close friend he's known for years. Stella may end up close to him that way over the course of the game as they both deal with the hardships they face. So I want the Somnus song to stick. Even though there are lots of talented bands out there, I highly doubt any will have songs that seem as tailor-made for the game as Yoko's.

I totally agree.

Am I the only one who thinks (and hopes) that Stella is going to be an antagonist?

Oh ok, cool. I didn't know it was confirmed already. But to be honest I think it would be cool if they didn't go for the usual "rival turned ally" thing and actually had her be an antagonist through to the end.

Sorry Sci, like Leena says, I think she's a good person but is against the party so that makes her an antagonist. I don't think given her personality there's any chance of her being the type that goes last boss on you. But since she has the same powers at Noct, she'll likely be hard to beat. But mark my words, when she joins, the two of them will be a great duo.
