Ah, now I can see why you called your own review "controversial", though I probably should have seen it coming from a long distance away.
I was slightly surprised by the number rating at the end. I say "slightly" because the review read like a 6/10, but you've made a clear, detailed and level-headed case for why you find it an average game, and too many forget that a 5/10 is equivalent in number form in a current gaming environment where 7/10 has been seen as the average. A bit disappointed as well, because I was cautiously hoping for this one to at least be unequivocally the more fulfilling and satisfying experience than FFXIII and FFXIII-2.
Quite a lot of the comments on Nova Crystallis though...oh dear lord, what can be said about some of them? I see the words "biased" or "unbiased" appear and I ask: what
IS an unbiased review? Everyone has their own inherent biases when approaching a review, hence why they are subjective opinions externalised by the author regarding the product being examined. An "unbiased" review would simply be a product description. How would a review from someone more favourable to LR be less biased?
And I understand people who strongly disagree with the score, and perhaps some of Kagari's reasoning for fault areas, but the rancour is frightening and almost physically painful to read. I know not everyone commenting did that, and it's good to see voices of moderation, but otherwise, dear lord. Get a grip, NC. Seriously. It's an embarrassment unto itself.
