The defense figured him out and was hammering him in the first one. I remember very clearly all the sacks the Giants were getting (and all the gif images that emerged as well).
I'm sure teams in general would like to have winning seasons and win the big one. But why just focus on the Patriots when the Steelers, 49ers and Cowboys have dominated for so many years as well? Can't teams want to be like them too?
Hell, that's not even factoring in the time BEFORE the Superbowl was a thing. Who would want to be the Patriots when the Packers won 11 titles from 1929 to 1967?
Giants probably don’t mind though. Being the only team who have beaten the "dominating" Patriots not once but twice has to be pretty fucking satisfying.
It's like taking out a multi-billion dollar business. The bigger they are, the harder they fall. 18-1 is a pretty big and hard fall.
