God damn! The in-game graphics of FFXV look fucking shitty for a PS4/Xbox One game! The world looks way too fake and artificial. The trees don't even blow in the wind, for fuck sake! When these videos first came out, I thought that maybe it was just the video resolution, but now I'm seeing them in 1080p, I can see it wasn't. What an awful sight to behold.

This is what Luminous Studio is capable of? This? These shitty in-game graphics? You've got to be fucking shitting me...

I really need Hiroyuki Ito and FFXVI to show me that this once industry leading IP is still relevant, as I'm rapidly losing all hope in it.

Ok I have to get this off my chest, 1truth2lies, you are insane.
My honesty and frank pessimism stings, right? LOL! You're only offended by the truth because you're looking forward to FFXV.

Also, the FFXV in-game graphics are not a major leap over PS3/Xbox 360 games. Take a look at these graphics from a Skyrim mod released in 2012 and then compare them to the graphics in the FFXV walkthrough video in 1080p. Provided you're not a biased FF fan, you'll notice the Skyrim mod graphics actually look better.

I'm looking forward to the game and all but that walkthrough video was one of the most boring ways that I've ever willingly spent 15 minutes of my life.

Believe me, I'm also looking forward to FFXVI, but please, you really need to stop mentioning it on EVERY GOD DAMN post. Even Hiroyuki Ito would think you're kinda creepy if he read you.

Not even gonna reply to your shitty in-game graphics comment...

Shut up already, it's fine when you have an actual opinion against something, but now you're just plain shitposting.

And are you really going to compare a PC mod of a game to a console title that isn't even done yet?
PC graphics always far exceed the consoles, graphics on PC have looked better than current(next) gen graphics since back before these consoles come out. Making this comparison is pointless, as PC games will always look better than consoles.

You're bitching about tech demos because trees aren't moving? Why didn't you also bitch about the horrible pop-in both with shadows and models and lack of anti-aliasing, how about that the monsters shake around wildly, or the poor party AI running into you all of the time?

None of these things matter because the game is still in development, the engine hasn't been converted fully, and there's still work to be done. Bringing up XVI again has no relevancy.

Aside from technical problems that are likely to get fixed/diminished (pop-in, water reflections, characters hitting trees...) and the IQ, it looks absolutely amazing.

Character models and animations are great and feel organic, draw distance is really impresive, particle effects are beautiful as hell and man, lighting is phenomenal (nightime is really cool and scary too. And even if transitions are obviously sped-up, you can see they feel very natural. And dem clouds).

BTW, grabbed these from GAF:

You can now appreciate the map much better than before. Accordo seems to be definitively in that place where water has a different color (you can actually see the shape of the city, with the different islands) and Lucis is obviously that gray square (which also shows how massive it is compared to Accordo, for example).

Also, there are several more towns and cities there, and if we take Accordo as a reference, they are preeetty big. I hope there is a way of sailing seas and rivers (as well as airships!) and fully/almost fully exploring those cities, because that's the thing I'm most excited about this game.

I don't think the game looks bad. That particular video was just so dull. All they did was running around doing nothing.

It's boring, sure, but the video was specifically made to showcase how traversing the world works.

Also, bear in mind that this is content from the demo, in a game that's still a year away at the very least AND that they disabled events and elements in order to allow the player traverse Duscae without interruption, basically to show how big the scale is.

I wonder where the duscae region is on this map. There has to be some smaller ponds but I can't really tell which size they'd have on this map.

But I also think that Lucis will be that gray square becaus it's a massive city.

The views are stunning and the graphics generally look very good. The only bad thing I noticed is that vegetation in some places looks terrible. Like here:

Those clumps of grass look really pathetic. It looks much better in some other areas so it will likely be fixed in the final version.

Now onto something positive: the lighting is simply beautiful. I think I've never seen better day/night transitions in a video game. And all the other light effects look just as amazing. And my God, that rainy night in Lucis :jawdrop:

Damn.:chocowalk:
