I'm honestly just expecting the majority of the survey content and nothing else afterwards, BD2 only have so much time and resources to spare that they obviously can't please everyone regardless.

As long as they have at least tried their best, its more than enough for me.

While I can understand some criticism toward the free content, I don't understand the straight bitching over it. Saying stuff like "Oh, they cut this out to add it as DLC!". I just think to myself, "A lot of it is given out for free, and other aspects didn't go into full development until FFXV launched considering how feedback probably played a factor in Cor and Aranea being around more".

Gameplay video for the FFXV Pocket Edition.

Gotta admit it does look interesting, and there was that bit of extra dialogue from Ignis about Gladio having spare change and to ask him. Don't remember that in the original.

Do feel free to correct me if I'm wrong but that was the first time I heard that line of dialogue.

Makes me wonder will there be more in this edition?

http://www.dualshockers.com/final-fantasy-xv-no-plans-dlc-main-game/

in that fan event he said he would think about it, so i wouldn't completely rule that out yet.

about future content he said this

"That being said, Tabata-san also mentioned that the team got a sense of what users want to see as future character DLCs thanks to a survey done in the spring. While they can’t do all of them, they definitely want to look into the possibility of creating character DLCs for the characters that are most highly requested.

We hear that the reason why Tabata-san is at PAX is that he wants to hear feedback from the American fans directly at a planned community gathering, exactly as it happened at a similar event in Cologne during Gamescom. The aim is to get a sense of what the fans would like and what features they desire, and use that feedback on top of the survey results. For example, at the community event in Cologne more backstory for Ardyn was highly requested, and Luna was also named a lot. Ultimately, the fans want to see more story content covering some aspects that weren’t given the spotlight in the main campaign."

it's definitely coming, but don't expect nothing more than requested (like a meatier second half, or new scenes added to the base game); i think the base game will receive minor updates and nothing else.

it's dissapointing in one way, but SQ is really supporting the game more than the usual, see the case with MGSV and Mass Effect: Andromeda which were also deemed somewhat unfinished or lacking by the fans but their support post-release was minimal.

Its funny, for as much shit people give FF these days, the franchise itself is currently still in a far better position than Metal Gear Solid and Mass Effect essentially being put in limbo (especially with the latter after Andromeda).

You're completely right about the comparison, but the comparison doesn't make you feel much better about ffxv' situation regardless. I've always held FF to a high standard. We should still hold it to the high standard, and of course keep toxicity to a minimum.

There is also (almost) no way they're skipping out on adding Cerberus as a boss fight in a future update, from what was shown i that PC development footage.

Yeah, but it came close. Remember Tabata said that SQEX were willing to kill the FF franchise if XV sold below five million. Thankfully it's sold 6 Million+ and counting, so all's looking rosy on the horizon. And there's no guarantee they'll try the XV Universe thing again as it's an experiment for this particular game. So probably with XVI, things will get back to a better form of normal.

RPS: You’re part of a Final Fantasy committee but can you tell me exactly what that does? Because all I can imagine is that you are part of the Final Fantasy illuminati.

Hajime Tabata: Probably the most important function of the Final Fantasy committee is – because Final Fantasy is spread out among so many games – is basically to keep that brand consistency and brand identity for the games and to check what everyone is doing and make sure nobody goes beyond the boundaires of what the brand should be, and just to share information.

...

RPS: Forza Horizon 3 put the boys’ car – the Regalia – in that game but there was also a real car made by Audi based on the game, but what happened to it?

HT: Okay, there was someone that wanted to buy that off us and we decided to sell it to him.

RPS: That simple?

HT: There were actually quite a few people who approached us last year saying they wanted to buy the car, but we worked out the logistics of it, we had to pick one of the guys but we had to get it to him logistically for a start. Because, I mean, the model currently can’t run on Japanese roads properly. It isn’t set up that way, and just thinking about that… we picked one of the final people and had to get it to him and, yeah, it was all good.

The thing with the car in Forza was actually a little bit more simple in those ways. Forza 2 especially was a game which we used for a lot of reference points for the road trip elements of Final Fantasy XV, so we have a connection to them there. A lot of people in my team really like Forza 3 as well. But in actual fact they were the ones who offered us – ‘look, we’d like to put your car, the Regalia, into the game’ … so that’s how that collaboration started.

(i'm fucking jealous, i was actually raising money to buy it ;p, btw the thing with a New Empire also began with Machine Zone offering the collab)

RPS: All right, I’m going to ask you something you’ve likely been asked before. Who is the best boy?

HT: [Laughs] They’re all good guys. They’re all good blokes. Who do you reckon it is?

RPS: No no no, I need an answer!

HT: No, I mean I really love the way all four of them develop and change as people over the story, but I think the way Noctis develops as the protagonist of the story and as a person is personally the one that I would like best.

But one other thing I am incredibly relieved about is Prompto, touching back on what I said earlier about the survey, yeah, because he ended up getting such a bad result. Even with all the sub-characters outside the [main characters] he was way down there. But because it was my effort to kind of reel him back and make him a character people would like, and because we managed to do that I’m quite relieved he turned into a character that people liked. Originally I was thinking: okay, he might be a slightly difficult guy to relate to when you take him in isolation, but if you see him interacting and bantering with all his mates at the party maybe people will be able to open up to him and people’ll like him. But when we saw that he was such an unrelatable character… we thought: “Oh. We have to change him and make him better.” And I really did put in quite a lot of effort to bring him back to something people would like, and I think we achieved that.

Might have found something huge (?)
https://imgur.com/kqRhLD8

The first scene in KG involves the Glaive defending the Wall which is the last line of defense in Galahd to Insomnia.

That tech video showed this in the 2017 slot:

People are speculating a playable KG version or potentially comrades will expand Lucis's playable area. Could this be how they do it?

it's def similar, with comrades and that TGS banner strongly relating to Kingsglave, who knows; we might explore a few new areas on the multiplayer (or it's just a scrapped area).
Agreed but I think from something shown not too long ago this year, they'd really scrap a new map addition? To me, the fact that it is labeled under 2017 seems like it could be something they plan to release. More realistically, it'll likely be some special area in the Comrades DLC if anything, unless they did expand to a few new areas. Hell, even the sign of the Cerberus with the bro's make me think they plan on doing an Omen adaption as well. It kind of seems to be on that poll they had back in June too. Obviously all speculation though. Could just be a new DLC fight

Speaking about the FF Committee, I wonder if they have some sort of power in deciding who will be in charge of the next installment.
I wouldn't be in the least surprised. Personally, I'm wondering how Tabata's actions rearranging the XV team into a horizontal non-hierarchical structure (tantamount to revolution in Japanese game developers even today) is affecting the rest of SQEX and their planned or in-progress projects.

like the narrator said, they asked tabata to make a short tech demo to showcase the nvidia's gpu power, so i don't think it will lead to something playable.
Trying to find where I also saw Nyx's model being used on a PS4 pro as well. It's not just nvidia they showed his model running on.

just done the trial of the week and it seems you unlock additional info on the bestiary (for the respective monster) if you complete them; will confirm with the next trial.
