Damage control Pez.
From what I understood he's not really defending the game or Square. He even says the series needs to scale back and learn from FFXV's blunders. He's just calling people out for their shitty behavior towards Tabata and given how many people I've seen attack the man in a fit of uncivil rage I feel like someone had to say it. FFXV was far from perfect and Square definitely fucked up monumentally more than once but it's even more fucked up that Tabata was targeted with so much vitriol no matter how much he tried to work with the fans. He became the recipient for so much hate, for so many actions and decisions that ultimately fall on Square's upper management which not enough people blame since they're not in the limelight like the directors.

It just makes the fanbase as a whole look bad when Tabata goes "Hey guys I'm working on this for the game and I'm also trying to get feedback on things since our game is clearly far from perfect" only to be met with "Fuck you, go die in a ditch, and I hope your family and anyone you hold dear falls victim to the plague." Things can be criticized without overly emotional personal attacks and I feel like a lot of gamers forget this. You can't deny that a lot of FFXV haters tend to be really crass and belligerent.

Do you think this new project is a brand new main FF or is something else?!

It also mentions a new Mobile title for China which I wonder if that is the previously announced 2019 FFXV mobile game for China.

I keep seeing more and more mentions of the new Luminous game being called just "New AAA Title" or "New AAA Game" instead of "New AAA IP" like it previously was mentioned as, so I do wonder if there really was some internal shift that caused them to complete change what the new AAA game even is, and that resulted in Tabata's decision to leave.

Will it be new achievements or itself and re-acquired?
Dunno, I asked the mods from reddit as they apparently got some info from the Japanese side and said they're going to e-mail a couple of ends about it because they said the trophies/achievements are the only thing that weren't specified.

Anyhow, this also just went up.

I thought PC development was cancelled? Why even update the benchmark after the initial DLSS were done a few weeks ago too?

The mods were talking about it on discord repeatedly, I'll just quote them about it:

Reddit Mods said:
The development of the PC version of FFXV is not canceled.
People have been passing around this "evidence" of the cancellation:

However, that is an incorrect translation. Square Enix officially translates it as:

The direct (rough) translation is the following:

PC用「ファイナルファンタジーXV WINDOWS EDITION」 現在配信中「FFXVオンライン拡張パック:戦友」配信を継続 ボス10体/衣装/武器は無償アダプターで配信予定

"Final Fantasy XV WINDOWS EDITION" for PC Currently in service "FFXV Online Expansion Pack: Comrades" will have continued distribution (with): 10 Bosses, costumes, weaponry to be distributed at no additional charge via an update.
Anyway, they said they haven't got any comment from the Japanese or English reps they speak with about pc dev, including mod tools, or if achievements are being transferred or combined and that the source of the whole "PC dev is cancelled" the Steam forum posting that screencap around instead of reading it apparently. One of them transcribed and translated it because someone on the server wouldn't listen about what it said.

I haven't seen anything about dev stopping beyond what's been going around with that cap, and that's specific to comrades on PC because they're not doing standalone but are just throwing it into an update.

mod tools still don't know if cancelled, right ?
Dunno, XV reddit mods have said they haven't heard anything specific. There wasn't anything said in the officially subtitled version of the stream either, which the mods gave a link to with the translated slide from the Japanese presentation.

So it seems kinda like people jumping the gun a bit since I haven't seen anything confirming it, mods haven't shown anything confirming pc dev being cancelled.

I haven't found any news sites actually showing some source about it.

I was always wondering about this, especially because it was only a few weeks ago when Aramaki said they are looking to do more RTX support with FFXV, which surely would have been after it was internally decided that Tabata was leaving SE/LumiPro as according to Eurogamer that happened at the end of Summer, meaning in September.

But his interview is from October

Yeah, all I know is all the reddit mods were watching both streams. None of them said anything about pc dev being cancelled, and have said they're going to send another message out because they had asked someone before the streams were on.

So IDK where this has come from other than people jumping the gun about seeing "windows edition" and "cancelled" in the same slide. I went and watched the streams again and didn't see anything because I'd have told them they need to fix their information, but I guess someone else would've done it by now since they're quick to update their stuff.

It would be a waste to update the Benchmark too if dev was stopped, so I think like the whole shirt thing that went on with the Royal stuff (someone apparently said they had something wrong, but the press info the mods had actually was correct) they seem to kinda be right at the moment.

Hopefully brand new, would be disappointed if they indeed turned it into a FF title.

Agni's Philosophy is that you? *just dreaming*
*Fingers crossed*

Splendid, makes me feel a lot more at ease currently. Hopefully they'll talk about the mod tools more now that DLSS has arrived.

Do you think there will be final fantasy xv complete edition in march 2019 ?
No, they'll most likely release Ep Ardyn and we'll likely access that the same way we access the current DLC Episodes, and then that's probably that. March ends end of new FFXV content, I wonder if this also might have something to do with the Financial Year ending at the end of March too, since the other 3 DLC episodes would have gone over to the next fiscal year and the higher ups probably just want new XV content to end as of end of March 2019 the end of this current fiscal year.
