Im on my second run right now, just finished the Altissia tragedy, and I still dont really get his intentions and acts. Why does he help Noctis all the way to Altissia, then suddenly intend to stop him? Why does he kill Luna? Appart from the dramatic turn of events, was it really necessary for something?

You'll find out in Chapter 13. When you are asked which version you'd like to play, do not select the verse 2 until afterward.
