Okay, I get where you're coming from and I kinda agree. Of course I wasn't comparing the whole Episode, just the part we've seen. And the reason I compared them was because these games were brought up earlier by someone arguing that all TPS games are the same and the DLC looks also the same. The purpose of my post was to point out that there are some major reasons why what we've seen so far of the episode looks subpar to these games.
And while I do believe it's unfair to draw hasty conclusions about the Episode, I also don't think we should give Square the benefit of doubt and expect the rest of it to be much better. They've shown this part knowing that it'll be people's first impression. Why would they choose a segment that's not representative of the whole DLC and presents it in a bad light if they had something more in store? We already went through this with FFXV pre-release materials that were showing mostly the desert and grassy area, and many fans believed they were just showing early game areas in order not to spoil it, and that there must have been so much more in store. But there wasn't. And when the reality hit
certain fans pretty much underwent a mental breakdown and
still haven't recovered.
I know I went off on a tangent a bit but I just wanted to preemptively say that with Square we should only expect what we actually see.
No offense, but now you're just being unnecessarily pedantic. Of course I didn't mean that it
literally had no level design, it was just a sarcastic way of expressing that it's very bare bones and low effort.
Peace
