Pretty sure it will be close to a full remake considering it's going from PSP to PS4 though... They're not just going to upscale the graphics for PS4, if they were doing that, they would just release it on PS3. This is definitely going to be something they recreate all of the assets for.
Press release says it's a remaster. They're not remaking it.

And remasters that get released on the PS3 in the west at retail require to be bundled with another title.

Probably just a mistake. When we get closer to release, they'll probably adjust it. Currently, Amazon US has it for $59.99.

Remasters should not cost that much. Then again, this hasn't been released in the west yet so who knows!

They're adding a bunch of niche Japanese titles to PlayStation Vita's library. If you love those type of games then yeah it's great! But if you don't then no. Unfortunately those games don't have mass appeal and aren't going to increase the install base.
Final Fantasy Type-0 was designed with Sony's demographic in mind. To be more specific, the game was designed to appeal to Japanese gamers. .
They said the opposite of that when Type-0 was first talked about. They were like "this is for western audiences". I remember, because right after that people talked about it being an homage to Harry Potter until it was debunked. Also, Persona games seems to be the main seller on Vita as I hear around the forums. I'm with you that Square should stick with PS3 and 4 for now, but I just want Vita owners to get something too. Doesn't feel right for me to get what I want and ditch them.

Likely due to SE's lack of confidence in the Vita.
I don't think it's as much a lack of confidence in the Vita as that they have more of a chance if it's on two consoles than one (as in, both the next-gen consoles), and a third, handheld version would be an additional cost. Doing PS4 and XBO versions don't incur that much together, as the system architectures are now so similar. They probably also figure that this is a more niche release, and those who were likely to buy on Vita probably already own one of the two new consoles, as they'll be pretty hardcore gamers.

It shouldn't be too hard to sell if they market it well. Then again, being a PSP remaster of a game that was never released here in the first place; so yeah, it's kind of niche.

Isn't the Vita already able to play PSP games?
It can, and the mega budget release would've just been to digitally put out the PSP release with text translation and Japanese voice. For whatever reason, they decided not to go down that path. It's more expensive to do the PS4/XBO port, but they can also sell a lot more copies potentially and for a much higher price there.

It's going to be interesting to see how people react to this game once they finally play it. Hopefully people aren't expecting a console like experience.
