Ok, this is weird. I hope they haven't canned Stella or changed her name (well, they say "new character", so...) I was almost sure Luna was the black-haired girl.

If Stella still exists, she might be her sister or something weird. Which could explain why they seemingly knew each other as children.

And basically this translation of 4Gamer interview (http://sqex.info/tgs-2014-4gamer-interviews-ff-type-0-hd-ffxv-director-hajime-tabata/) is in concordance with previous ones: you can only control Noctis.

Melodramatic or not, I'm out, I'm stopping being delusional and having false hopes, it seems pretty clear to me.

Thanks SE for breaking so many promises, this game was basically the only thing I was expecting from you, so at least I can ignore you now for a good while.

It doesn't bother me all that much ( if the final version keeps it like that). The game revolves more around Noct than anything, so playing as him the whole way through, at least I get a sense of the whole story playing as him and Noct giving everyone commands to take down enemies.

Come to think of it, when was the last time anyone over at Square-Enix officially uttered the name "Stella"?

"Stella" could be dead. A relic of Versus now cast aside, perhaps with her character concept, with her blonde locks living on as the base design for a entirely new character called Luna. Possible. It wouldn't explain the name change, unless they've decided that Luna is a prettier name/has a greater symbolic meaning than Stella.

As far as I'm concerned, unless they confirm it, "Stella" as we know it doesn't exist in Final Fantasy XV.

But this isn't KH, they even changed the battle system to make it closer to FF, so removing this makes absolutely no sense. If there is anything characteristic in the series, apart from a certain battle system (new or old), story... it's the ability of being able to play with a wide cast of characters.

I don't want to spend the entire damn game playing as Noctis when we have 3 (4 if Cor is still in) more members, some of them much more interesting than him. And it's not that much work considering it was intented to be like that before, the party is really small and the characters aren't that different to Noctis (they share weapons, likely magic...) so it's not like they would be creating an entire new system. This is just lazy. Giving them commands is crap if I can't play as them.

If they hand't (ever) say you could do that, I wouldn't care that much, but it's something they've just gotten rid of (last time it was said was in September 2013, by Nomura). Seriously, they are really pissing me off with this, it's like they're laughing at us who have been waiting for so long.

SE's words are worth nothing. Not that I didn't know that before, though.

And on-topic: she actually doesn't look much like Stella in that angle. I don't know what they're doing with this, but it's weird, although I don't think she got canned. Or well, nothing is out of SE's reach if we go by these latest days.

I understand people were expecting a KH battle system, however, with 8 years in total you had to think at some point ( this battle could possibly/maybe get changed). I'm not giving them a pass or anything because that's what was implied for us to get.

However according to this part in the patent: http://i.imgur.com/9nXRRzD.jpg

" and a normal game mode, in which various attacks can be cast by the player pressing a plurality of buttons" They could very well be two systems in place ( a Gambit system, that you can customize and then let the magic roll when certain conditions are met) OR You can press a plurality of buttons manually.

Then don't play it. It's your right. But I think you'll lose a great game. IMO, the more I know from the mechanics of this Final Fantasy, the more I want to play it. It's growing fond in me.

Nope, this isn't a Kingdom Hearts and yes, it is a Final Fantasy. Remember that switching characters isn't the only characteristic present in this franchise. In fact, I think the most important characteristic every Final Fantasy has is the ability to experiment with its mechanics. They've been doing it since FFII. I'm really glad that FFXV isn't an exception, albeit all the problems it has had since the Versus era.

Actually, I don't even care anymore about the KH system lol. I've said it actually looks cool and interesting, even if I'm still dissapointed in the change (it wasn't one of the main reasons I was interesed in this, anyway).

I could understand not having other characters when it was purely action, since that could have rendered difficult. But now that it's more streamlined... I don't know, man, but I don't like this.

Oh, of course I'll get to play it, I'm not going to throw this out after so long (and I love everything apart from this thing). But it's the excitement that I had before that is mostly over, and it's a bit sad considering how big it was.

And of course, that's not the only thing the series had. But it was a huge part, at least for me. In the world map/cities/dungeons it's just a skin you get to control, actually. But in battles, getting to play as them, leveling them up, equipping them as you wanted and then get to play it for yourself... I don't want to play as the rest by just pressing a command. And it's really weird they're doing this when the battle system sounds like a mix of Type-0 and XII, and not something so special and complex (as in, having to create a character skills, movement...)

But mainly, it's because of how they have behaved with this. Removing something that was still confirmed to be in the game a year ago is... I don't know. It's bullshit, but I see I'm alone in making this this big of a deal, so maybe it's just me.

I don't want to derail this, anyway!

Well the character thing "could change" in the future, they have about a year before this game releases, I wouldn't give up hope on that just yet ( just because of an early interview). Personally, it doesn't affect me much, as long as I have some control over my party ( via gambits) then I am cool with it :).

Well... If they say it's a new character then it's a new character. I don't think they just simply canned Stella.

This looks like Stella's twin sister. That picture I just posted makes it hard to tell but the angle shot of her makes it seem like they redid her face once again. She looks a bit weaker.

I can see it now. There is going to be a mix up and the wrong sister dies.

But yeah. Assuming we do have twin sisters here. Luna looks like the one who will hit the dirt probably because Stella failed to save her or something.
