People seem to always be asking about the localizations of various Dragon Quest titles so I thought it would be a good idea to clear the situation up.

Slime MoriMori Dragon Quest 3: Daikaizoku to Shippodan

The third entry in the Slime sub-series and the first Dragon Quest title on Nintendo 3DS, released on on November 2, 2011.

There is actually a good chance of this title still getting localizing as Dragon Quest mobile producer Noriyoshi Fujimoto and executive producer Yuu Miyake told Siliconera.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Terry's Wonderland 3D

A full 3D remake of the first Dragon Quest Monsters game, for Nintendo 3DS and released on May 31, 2011.

There has been hardly any mention of the Monsters games getting localized. I guess the DS games didn't sell well outside of Japan.

Dragon Quest VII

A full 3D remake of the seventh entry in the Dragon Quest series, for Nintendo 3DS and released on February 7, 2013.

Square Enix want to localize this title, even the creator himself wants to see it happen but the problem is its the largest game in the series and they have to do a complete re-translation due to the changes they made with VIII and going forward. But they're thinking about it.

Dragon Quest Monsters 2: Iru and Luca's Marvelous Mysterious Key

A full 3D remake of the second Dragon Quest monsters game, for Nintendo 3DS and released on February 6, 2014.

There has been hardly any mention of the Monsters games getting localized. I guess the DS games didn't sell well outside of Japan.

Theatrhythm Dragon Quest

A music rhythm game for Nintendo 3DS, released on March 26, 2015. Produced by Ichiro Hazama. This one is in an odd situation. This is actually in Business Division 4 rather than Business Division 6. Curtain Call sold poorly however these are low budget games and we have no idea how well the DLC sold. There's also the problem with the Dragon Quest series having a much smaller market share outside of Japan. However, I'd say there's a higher chance of this getting localized than any of the Monsters games or X.

Dragon Quest VIII

A Nintendo 3DS port of the PlayStation 2 game with additional content. Releasing in Japan on August 27.

It's not even out in Japan yet and this game was very successful on PS2, plus most of it is already translated including voices recorded. They would only need to translate the new content for this title. While it may piss people off wanting VII, there's a good chance they'd release this in North America & Europe/Australia in 2016.

Dragon Quest X

This is an MMO on so many platforms now. They would love to localize it but obviously there's a lot of issues they need to overcome. They obviously couldn't localize it on all the platforms they've been releasing it on Japan either. PS4 would a shoe-in due to how crazy its selling outside of Japan but then it would be competing with FFXIV while Wii U is a question mark due its low market share while 3DS and mobile are streaming.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Super Light

The first Dragon Quest Monsters game for iOS & Android, released on January 23, 2014.

There has been hardly any mention of the Monsters games getting localized. I guess the DS games didn't sell well outside of Japan.

For the upcoming titles

DQ Heroes II is simply going to depend on how well the first one sells.

At this stage, I'm expecting at least the PS4 version of DQXI to make its way to NA, AU & EU.

Builders could be a great way to get new people into the series before XI releases due to how massive that genre is. Only the PS4 version really has a good chance of getting localized though.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3 I would not get my hopes up for.

Dragon Quest of the Stars I doubt we'd get.

Square Enix should at least try to bring DQ VIII 3D, if possible also VII 3D and both versions of XI. X I doubt because it would be too costly to set up. The Monsters games might make it through Nintendo (although I've hears rumours they are no longer interested in the series either).
As I said, I expect VIII next year. They did the mobile version no problem.
