Action combat! Limit breaks in real time! Versus XIII combat lives!

Everything I wanted and so much more. Can't wait to see magic and how Nomura handles summons. Fantastic in every regard.

The gameplay is very similar to FFversusXIII it seems, I think it looks amazing!
If KH1&2 menus is any indication, you will only use the attack command and maybe and special quick commamd in which you assign the magic and items use, making the command menu a bit pointless.

I was a bit dissapointed that it will use command menus for battles.
Really? Looks like Kingdom Hearts at first glance. Like Death Penalty and Crystal Power said, they'll probably be able to do here some of what never came to be with Versus.

I did think the little gauge under their names was an ATB meter at first, but after watching it a few more times it's definitely for limit breaks.

I can agree with that. A bit too early to say with VII remake though I think. We don't know exactly how it works yet, and what we saw today could very well change in the future.

I'm extremely pleased with everything about it. The environments looks great, colors were vibrant, Cloud and Barret looked good and fitting, as they should.... all the characters did actually. And I'm completely cool with action-rpg mechanics; It suits VII's sytle in my opinion, and what was shown looked amazing. Label me happy so far.

Yeah, I hate having to go through menus in real time. In KH1 and 2 I was using almost exclusively normal attacks and whatever I had mapped to face buttons, because trying to find the thing you want to use in the menu while enemies are attacking you is just annoying. That's one thing that imho turn based systems (and ATB set on wait) are better at, especially when you have a long list of spells, like FF7.

That said, it's most likely a placeholder menu anyway and final version may look more like XV for all we know.

Shieeeeeeeeet. I wasn't so sure about a combat change, but that looks pretty good (even if we don't know how it works, aside from assumptions). I really like that there's an ATB feel to it and that it isn't purely action-based. Can't wait for them to explain how it works.

Also, unless it's another XV E3 2013 trailer, it looks more advanced than I though it'd be. I wonder if the rumour with CC2 and Unreal 4 is true, then (I had almost assumed it). The wonders a nice engine can make, if true.

Really loving the environmental look. The battle scenes in the plaza look fucking amazing, seriously. I was a bit worried about the artstyle, but it looks more anime-like and less porcelain doll-like (like AC, which I hated).

My only (silly as hell) grip with the artstyle is Cloud's hair and eyes colour, which I'd like to be brighter: after all, he's been under a shitton of SOLDIER experiments. And Barret's sunglasess, not really feeling them, although they don't look too bad.

Also, I hope they keep Barret's over the top personality (keeping the damn stereotypes to zero, this time) as well as Cloud's. Make them as crazy as they were in the game, I want to see some good bants there.

And oh, my man Tetsuya. I'm really happy that he seems to be comfortable with all this: felt kind of bad for him after the whole XV thing. Now we have two big FFs to look forward to.

I can see why: a modern, gritty city at night, a similar flashy, fast-paced combat system against enemy soldiers, a (seemingly) third person shooting mechanic, as well as a switching character one.

And when it comes to the trailer, I also think they are similar in that they first show you some cinematics and then jump straight into action, showing how it overall plays without being too clear.

Also, I don't know how final the game's looks will be, but I'm loving the visual flair it has. The particle effects are gorgeous. BTW, is that that Barret uses in the gif Big Shot? Nice!

There is a separate limit break bar, I believe this is some other form of just ability system where you charge up your bar using standard combos and expend it on an ability that uses the entire bar, like a mini limit break.
