I have no idea what you're talking about... Live long thy line and these stones divine for the night when all come to naught is very straight forward. Live long your Kingdom and the crystals for the time of the coming plague of darkness.
Sorry if I wasn't very clear. I think thinking of it like someone say "You and the crystals shall live until this time". It's only speculation.

Finally, thanks for creating this thread!

I was talking to a friend a few days ago and he mentioned something interesting which Tabata talked about in one of the ATR's: how the power of the stars will heal the land if it's been destroyed (not sure if he specified in what way, but at least for this part he was referring to the aftermath of a summoning). We know the entire thing about the plague of the stars and the nights getting longer-- what if the world's destruction in XV is a gradually slow process? I mean to say that, it would be opposed to something like Sephiroth's Meteor or Kefka destroying the World of Balance. If the stars are slowly dying, Eos' land would also not heal as fast as it should, and once the day comes where there's only night, it wouldn't heal anymore. It would be likely then that the end would be caused by humans themselves through wars.

This is assuming that the stars heal the land in general, not just after a summoning.

Also, I don't think it has been discussed anywhere in this forum, but how does everyone feel about Ardyn possibly being, uhh, a less mad version of Kefka? There are obvious hints that he might be inspired by his character.
I had honestly not considered that the Plague of the Stars was that kind of thing. That would give the role of the Oracle more weight, as she is trying for forestall the inevitable. And Noctis proving himself to the Archeans would be more symbolic, as he's trying to prove he can reverse the coming of the plague or something like that.

I would say nothing of the text implies this at all.

O'er rotted Soil, under blighted Sky, A dread Plague the Wicked has wrought.
The earth and the sky are diseased by a plague from some named evil.
In the Light of the Gods, Sword-Sworn at his Side, 'Gainst the Dark the King’s Battle is fought.
The King, blessed by the light of the Gods, fights the battle against the dark.
From the Heavens high, to the Blessed below, Shines the Beam of a Peace long besought.
From both the Gods and to those blessed by the Gods themselves the long besought dream of peace glimmers with hope.
Long live thy Line and these Stones divine, For the Night When All comes to Naught.
May the lineage of the king live on with the crystals of light for when the plague of darkness consumes all into nothingness.

Lucis is named after Light and they are sworn by the sword, their entire Kingdom prides itself on the songs of swords and sorcery throughout their long line. Keep in mind, Regis is the 113th King of Lucis, this has been a staple for them throughout their lineage. We see the Genesis image depicting a long line of Kings and the swords surrounding four characters fighting back against the darkness and with the Goddess above them showering them with light.

Live long thy line is specifically referring to the Lucis Kingdom. They are blessed by the Gods, and this prophesy depicts of a King who fights back against evil when a dreaded plague consumes all into darkness. Through the Gods and the blessed King and his sworn, a glimmer of hope shines on that peace will be restored to the world and he can drive out the darkness.

This is basically referring to Noctis.

I think he said something like that, in one of the ATR someone (Ofuji I think) asked to him how the grass went back to normal after the fire (magic) wore off, to which Tabata responded "a mysterious force did it".

That's definitely quite an interesting and convincing interpretation. In any case (if there's any justice) all will be revealed in September. I always love Final Fantasy lore when it's properly written and told, so absorbing and tantalizing.

Absolutely. I'm personally a big fan of villains like Kefka, villains that are maddeningly evil but view their powers as not just SERIOUS EVIL POWERS THAT WILL LEAD TO MY DOMINATION but as sources of fun and entertainment. These villains tend to be unpredictable as a result, which always makes things more interesting. Ardyn is also fairly loud in comparison to other characters, with his hair that stands out and his particular sense of fashion. There are definitely some parallels to Kefka that I am feeling, so I do hope he's the main antagonist. XIII didn't have any one memorable villain, with the exception of Caius in XIII-2, I guess. The last FF villain that I really liked was Kuja in IX.

That's a very interesting theory about the fallout from PoTS, I don't remember Tabata saying that the healing was directly influneced by the power of the stars, but yeah, if that's true, it seems like a fairly logical conlclusion..

About Keftka, I have seen the comparisons drawn between Ardyn and Kefka, there are definitely some similarities. I think this game (villain-wise) is actually drawing inspiration from both VI (Kefka=Ardyn) and VII (Ravus=Sephiroth) so I think we will have at least those two main villains, probably with their own (possibly competing/at odds motivations to each other) This was certainly the sense I got from E3 2013, and I'm glad that now Ravus has been reconfirmed (and the speculation he was Luna's brother) was also confirmed, I get the feeling that we really are going to get some epic conflicts playing out in XV! I'm really looking forwards to it now...maybe even moreso than I was in 2013 since I know the danm thing is real finally!!

As a sidenote, we really know absolutely nothing of Ardyn's background, right?

Nope; we just know he's in charge of the Magitek Infantry and handles Niflheim's political operations for Iedolas.
I really like that, because it makes him such an enigmatic character. I hope we do find some stuff about him as we play the game though, I really want all the characters have the opportunity to get fleshed out!

I'm sure he definitely will get a good amount of developing, especially if he is going to be the main antagonist - which is something that signs seem to be pointing to. I'd be super happy if he is -- I miss having a Kefka-like villain! They are so exciting because they tend to be so unpredictable. I really like the fact that he is polite and has been described as civil in the face of hostile situations; somehow, those types of villains are the most frustrating to me.

I don't know why people relate Kefka to Ardyn when he isn't anything like Kefka.
Here's Kefka's personality:

Nothing Ardyn does is anything like this.
To be fair, we don't really know what Ardyn does (unless you have already read/seen Kingsglaive). All we have to go on right now is the way he dresses and that he appears to be very ambitious...

We already know from his Kingsglaive character description that Ardyn has an air of aloofness. Despite being on Niflheim's side and being the one to offer a peace treaty to Lucis, Ardyn still meets with Noctis and the others in Chapter 1 and keeps them alive. He also tells Ignis that he'll guide our buddies sometime during the game, as we hear in the Uncovered trailer––to where exactly is still unknown, of course. So whose side is he really on? That's the only question.

Also, I know the spotlight's currently on Ardyn, but let's not forget that

we have another antagonist in the form of Luna's brother. While we'll know his motivation in Kingsglaive––something that remains hitherto unknown about Ardyn––

if anything, I'd argue he'll be just as mysterious, if not more so, than Ardyn, especially in the game. Just whose side is he really on?

Yeah, as I mentioned earlier, that aspect of XV I feel makes it unique having 2 (potentially equally) big villains and a few minor ones as well, the potential for infighting among them and how they will fit in with Noctis and his friends could lead to amazing things! I think maybe a part of why they couldn't make Stella make sense might be because Luna was introduced when the game changed from Versus to 15-Stella's voice was heard over the party scene voice-over but we actually SAW young Luna running with Noctis. Maybe they felt having 3 siblings was not going to work for the narative because potentially Stella and Ravus were going to share some similarities, but when they added Luna to the mix Stella made less and less sense and her motivations didn't really work+the game needed to complete the story so in order to contrast Ardyn+Ravus better Stella was removed all together.

Ardyn, Ravus, and Iedolas are definitely the ones to look out for. I do expect Ardyn to be the main antagonist in the end, but it wouldn't surprise me if it ends up being Ravus since it'll make things more interesting and dramatic considering his relation to Luna.
Granted, I haven't looked at Kingsglaive spoilers much, so perhaps there's something in the movie that makes the chances of him being the main antagonist very small but I wouldn't know.

Ardyn, assuming from his bio and footage from Kingsglaive and FFXV, is the kind of guy who plays by his own rules to get what he wants. What does he want? I don't know.
To compare Ardyn with Kefka, there are a couple of similarities:
  • Both have an up-perky characteristic with Kefka being the highest (and with the difference that Kefka does it out of clown craziness while Ardyn does for his charisma)
  • They both (assuming for Ardyn) don't get fazed easily. However, with Kefka, his reaction to attempts of 'fazes' from others is either being ignorant or outputting an over the top (sometimes fake) anger, happiness etc. With Ardyn, he's more controlled whenever 'bad' things happen to him (An assumption but it looks like it considering his personality).
But otherwise, they're both different.
I feel like they both act like they're part of their respective systems while having their own agenda, and while they blend in with the others, they're both also pretty loud in the way they present themselves.

Just saw more "spoilers" for this game. It's clear at this point that people are just making up shit left and right. At least these new "spoilers" make more sense than the original ones.

Was there any mention of Daemon (the guy that Regis calls during the opening of Platinum Demo) in KINGSGLAIVE?
Yes. In Kingsglaive, Daemons are portrayed as gigantic monsters, barely controllable, that are pretty much aimed at the Lucis army and allowed to run riot. It's possible that the multi-armed monster from the first episode of Brotherhood is also a Daemon.

In the Platinum Demo Regis calls a person by the name of Daemon, asking where Noctis is, is there a mention of a persona with that name in Kingsglaive? That was my question.
