Weird, considering i asked someone who played the Gamescom demo (he's in this forum btw) not too long ago today whether or not choosing camp spots for fast travel was an option compared to Episode Duscae, he confirmed yes.
Could well be. I just haven't read anything that says you can. The only one that even comes to mind said it was just the last one, like in Duscae. But I have no official word from anyone.

Hahaha that Noctis fan is great. Also that symbol on Gentiana's arm looks like something we've seen, but I can't put my finger on it. Maybe the Shuriken Phantom Weapon? Or I'm just imagining things because I need more depth into Gentiana's character.
It definitely looks like the shuriken that Noctis uses in some of the game play videos. I wonder if that is Gentiana's weapon of choice since she and the shuriken weapon seem to be influenced by Japanese culture. I pointed out a couple days ago that Noctis posesses
Luna's trident
so maybe the shuriken is from Gentiana which is also a royal arm.

I don't even know which side of the fence you're arguing for here :p
Okay, I thought that was obvious^^ It's an embarrassing design. Could've been done so much better, see this fan-made redesign:

But maaan, I'm not going to start another Cidney discussion over here too :D We've discussed it to death on GAF already. It's just a garbage design. Period.

It was a joke, lol. I knew what you meant.

Cindy's design is everything everyone says it is, I just don't care. I do like that fan design better, though, but I'm just not expecting every gaming company to cure the world's ills overnight. It's Japan, they aren't as concerned with this trend in feminism as we are here, and while I completely and totally support the inclusion of more realistic/respectful depictions of women over time moving forward, getting upset that a character designed years ago doesn't fit today's trend is just an exercise in self-frustration.

Now, if FFXVI has crap like that, then by all means, let's get out our megaphones and catchy signs.

I don't mind Cidney's design.

It's embarassing yes, but we have plenty of over the top designs in FF; she's is a secondary character, never seen that negativity with Ashe's mini-skirt and she's a princess and part of the main group.

tbh what is more embarassing is doing endless discussions about that and making this a big deal (i'm looking at you gaf and lamefaqs lol).

To be fair, even if I'm tired of the same discussion over and over again, it's still valuable to talk about these matters, as there are also always new posters involved who could gain new insights and perspectives on things they would not necessarily be forced to think about more deeply otherwise because they're not affected or bothered by it. Just two days ago or so we had a discussion on Cidney again and there was a post about why she might be a good/empowered female character and I agreed like "yeah, actually some good points" only thinking it half-way through, but then every single point got ripped apart by another poster afterwards and rightly so for the most part. So I still learned something even after 2 years of Cidney discussions :p

At this point though I don't think there's much left I haven't heard yet - it's obviously a bad and embarrassing design and I agree with DrBretto that with FFXVI there hopefully won't be missteps like that anymore. Now, what really shouldn't be discussed anymore is the whole "What Versus could've been/Nomura's vision was so much better/etc" thing :D

it's not that im against this matter, but I feel they gain so much spotlight for nothing aka lots of pages of discussion that could be used for something relevant, but I get you.

Discussion and awareness is good. Demonization of anyone who doesn't automatically pick up a pitchfork is hurting the cause more than it is helping, though. Not you, mind you. You've never not been reasonable about it.

I am pro-equality in every sense of the word. I always, always stand on the side of equality. And I absolutely believe that better portrayal of women in videogames is an important step forward and good for everyone. But, I just think some people have an unrealistic expectation on how quickly society changes, and the incessant argumentative bullshit, particularly in places like NeoGAF, only serve to dull the effect of those who actually have something to say.

The thing is, people ARE waking up to it. Things are slowly changing for the better. Some people just need to accept that just because YOU'RE enlightened, doesn't mean the world will change over night. It takes time.
