in your chapter 0 just wondering how you would feel if the original idea of noctis's party escaping was implemented somehow? would have had more feeling running out of insomnia whilst being in the thick of it all.
I honestly didn't mind him not being there, as I think it would have confused people even more as to why they are all camping and doing leisure activities during the game sometimes, especially after being there firsthand.

What I will say though is that I wish Nyx could have a playable section and adapt Kingsglaive entirely. I get that they spent the money on it but it actually took away from the story's impact by removing that from the game. I always imagine Nyx dying at the end, and then the title pops up with Somnus. That to me should have been the real chapter 0

u can see the big tree of the marlboro dungeon in the distance, but you actually go there just by using the elevator which makes no sense lol.

UGH, I get frustrated about that. Why skip that transition? This is an adventure game I wanna SEE ALL OF IT, even the 5 minute run it would take to get to that dungeon in the first place lmao.

Edit: http://imgur.com/a/0YKME Sorry for crap quality, but you can clearly see how big this area actually is in Cartanica. 5 bucks they are making this place an open area to explore in the future. It looks amazing for a desert town.

the station, the elevator, and the stairs that lead to it are exactly like the ones in the omen trailer.

i like the fact the second half is more story-oriented, but a few small areas wouldn't hurt.

edit: thinking about it, tabata didn't mentioned new areas on the roadmap...

Yeah, considering the tone they were going for with the road trip, I think the game might have actually been better served with an even lower key opening.

Imagine if you arrive to Galdin Quay to find Iris frustrated that the road to Lestallum blocked, and your first major task is to take down the Niff blockade to escort her there. There's a bit of mystery in that the boys think it's weird that she left the city even though she wasn't sent to the wedding, but everything's still light-hearted since the city hasn't fallen yet.

Once you get her there, you get a cutscene showing that Luna is actually in Insomnia. Then Cor could ask for help investigating another new Niff base (the one with Loqi) in Leide and hint at tensions in the city. He takes off once the mission is complete, and the boys decide that they need to check up on the city.

The imperial blockade is already in place so they fight their way around, but night falls and they have to rest at the haven overlooking the city. And then they're woken up in the middle of the night by the sound of explosions and gunfire, and as soon as they try to get into the city, Cor shows up to keep Noct from getting himself killed.

Noct is sent to collect the first two Royal Arms in Leide, then he returns to Lestallum to check on Iris, but has to collect the Royal Arm in the cave and gets sidetracked by Ardyn before seeing her.

Everything else can proceed from there. Noct fights Titan, loses the Regalia, gains Ramuh's favor, and gets the Regalia back. Jared's death is replaced with Iris' reaction to the destruction of Insomnia, which should hit harder and make the revenge quest make more sense.

Everything after that can basically remain the same, and very few assets would even need to change overall. Maybe some of the post-Ch. 9 banter changes were implemented early to match the change in tone, but that wouldn't require new assets.

...It'd be nice to get further explication and maybe a few more areas to explore in the second half (namely an open-ish area around Cartanica, a Tenebrae dungeon, and a few cutscenes explaining Ravus's deal) but that just requires more stuff instead of structural changes.

Yeah the more i think about the original Insomnia intro the more i wonder how they'd be able to balance the tonial shift from the dark & heavy invasion to the road movie part for Versus XIII if it were still intact.

Simple, you provide a tonal shift between characters. Thats why if it was ever in the game, I wouldn't have minded seeing it through Nyx. Him dying at the end, the game runs the FFXV title, then you start on your road trip. The game basically goes back to that tonal shift at the end anyway, so it could have worked. Id love if they'd adapt the invasion in game as DLC one day.

was exploring altissia and noticed the gondola symbol in the area where luna gave her speech on the map, thought we could actually go there but NOPE (which i don't understand since it was rendered and all and u could actually walk in there during that segment)

also one thing they could do to make the game more complete is to add more npc conversations, there are very few of them they repeat a lot; the fact you can't talk to most of them is annoying too.

Going into Ardyn's backstory, as well as the history of the Astrals and Kings would definitely help the game's story.

Found this article about Ardyn.

http://creditconcerto.blogspot.com.au/2016/12/the-tragedy-of-ardyn-izunia.html?m=1

I swear if this was implemented into the game, like say it was relayed to the main cast after defeating Shiva and she rewards you with this knowledge, then the emotional investment players would feel for the story would increase ten fold.

He's got an amazing backstory.

One of the side quests for the game was photographing the chasm caused by the War of the Astrals.

It's a deep cut on the face of the earth and has those interesting spiralling rock thingies within.

A cutscene depicting this (the conflict between Ifrit and the rest of the astrals in a full blown fight cutscene) would've been epic.

I wonder if Nomura was going for that roadtrip tone when originally making Versus or that was brought in by Tabata. I think it was the latter.

It is clear they ran out of time and rushed it in the end. Wonder if they will add the rest of Altissia in.

The road trip theme was Nomura's idea.

If you watch the old trailers you can clearly see that was what they were trying to do, even back then.

There are numerous articles online saying it was Nomura's idea as well if you do your due research.

Found this post on reddit about the original Plague of the star storyline and it also explains the red moon/sky
https://www.reddit.com/r/FFXV/comments/5i4teu/pleague_of_the_stars_bloodmoon_storyline/
"only at a truce with only one line of humans, which was known as the Lucius (yes, it was originally called Lucius, like Lucifer) family."

hmm i dont know about this, the family name is Lucis since Versus XIII, not Lucius.

cool story overall tho, if that's even true.

though i like ardyn's story as it is.

I'm going to lambast this person because of their ignorance and arrogance. I believe I've seen this person before, it comes from a long chain of YouTube comments on multiple videos like the ramblings of a crazy person who is so disjointed they lose all sense of who they are and what they're doing.

Let me say this directly to you, for you: This is all truth, so you don't have to worry about opinion or fan interpretation or any of that, this is just straight from the original story.
It's truth, just trust me. Yeah... uh, why should we?

[...] and their bodies would then be inhabited by demons (lets call them what they really are, not daemons or whatever they used due to sensitivity. They are straight up Demons.)
Daemons isn't done out of "sensitivity"... it's an archaic spelling of demons. It's literally the same word just in a classical spelling. You'd think this person would do even a slight bit of research before posting nonsense.

[...] known as the Lucius (yes, it was originally called Lucius, like Lucifer) family.
As someone else has mentioned, it was always supposed to be Lucis. I'm not sure why they decided to try to force this weird Lucifer thing into this fanfic.

[...] you can even see pictures of King Regis growing a horn out of his head.
That's a Crown, not a horn... It's hilarious how many times I've seen this. The fact that they said this shows that they're making this up, but why stop here. Also, Regis didn't age until XV, so for it to somehow be part of the original game makes no sense.

So yes, the original story was meant to be very, very deep, dark, mature, way more interesting and coherent (because of its connection with Fabula Nova Crystallis)
In what way? Nothing that was described here had ANYTHING to do with the FNC. Nor was anything here "deep", "dark" or "mature".

[...] do you know the ring that Noctis wears is actually based on the so-called real life biblical Ring of Solomon (type in Seal of Solomon in Google and read the Wiki on it, it will blow your mind). This ring gave whoever wore it direct power to the Chaos Crystal's full power, the power to CONTROL and summon demons to do your will, and all sorts of incredible super-human abilities.
People knew this back when they made references to the similar ring from FFVIII.

I've seen this person's comments on YouTube as I've mentioned, it's just a load of shit.

Gonna agree with Leonblade. The number of people making shit up when it comes to this game is staggering.

For example, a regular poster on the official forum created an entire make believe "leak" about the game a few months back as a test to see if people would take the bait.

Lo and behold nearly everyone did. The thread was shared heavily and was the subject of intense discussion over at Gamefaq.

Of course the poster for this "leak" did include a link at the end to say that he was completely trolling.

Always be skeptical and try not to be gullible is all I'll say.
