Here is a daytime out of bounds glitch where the player observes Shiva's corpse.

It looks soo different during the day. I had no idea she was striking such a pose whilst dead.

Makes me wonder how the battle to take down Shiva went. I'm guessing craploads of ships and lasers blasting away at her while Ardyn watches on in glee at killing a God who wronged him.

Edit: Lol at 7:16... yknow I'd be more surprised if he didn't actually do that.

Kinda funny that he didn't edit that out xD

Now that I think about it, all the Astrals are ginormous.

Bahamut, Titan, Ramuh and Shiva would be roughly the same size I think. Noctis is tiny in the palm of all of their hands.

Noctis was as big as Leviathan's iris.

But yes, Shiva's pose is quite divine. What a way to go.

Still don't understand the whole "Astrals being dead yet they're still alive and in the game" thing though.

Astrals are said to be physical manifestations of the stars' power (FFXV Ultimania).
This cocept has similarities with the concept of an avatar in hinduism. Their physical bodies/vessels can be dead but their spirit still be alive.

Ah ok. So when one physical body dies, then can just embed their spirit in another vessel then.

Makes sense when you put it that way.

I've been replaying the second half of the game to record footage for a video, and there was one NPC comment that I hadn't remembered that really stuck out to me:

Luna personally planted that massive field of Sylleblossoms that she told Noct would be waiting for him when he got to Tenebrae. And then the Empire burned all of it before he arrived. =(

I remember that actually.

I think you learn about that when you arrive at Tenebrae and talk to the people there isn't it?

Another interesting thing to note is the old lady you meet who tells you about Ravus and Pryna is the exact same lady you see in Kingsglaive who talks to Luna before she attempted to leave Tenebrae.

Found this in a FB group.

It's with the final boss with Ardyn. I always knew he said something to Noctis but I never knew what it was because it was drowned out by the music.

He says something about turning Noctis's friends into daemons.

One question though: why didn't he?

He had 10 years and all the opportunity in the world to?

I wonder if he's purposely acting like a douche just to egg Noctis on to kill him, that it's all just a facade and he's behaving how he has to just to finally die already?

Yeah, IIRC, it's one of the old men near the train who say that. Another one says that he thinks the burning of the Manor may have been intended to spite Ravus, which I also didn't remember. (Of course, my not remembering that kind of stuff doesn't mean it wasn't there. XD; )

I did notice that Maria was the same lady from Kingsglaive, though. ;)

I hadn't heard that, either. o_0;

Anyway, Ardyn still needed Noct to get to him for the final showdown. Presumably, he'd have turned them if he succeeded in killing Noct.

As much as I don't want to (because I love listening to Magna Insomnia), I'm gonna do the final boss fight again with music off just to see if I can catch any extra dialogue.

I keep debating with myself over this, so I'd like to hear your insight on this.

We know that no matter what the outcome, Ardyn gets what he wants and wins in the end (Royal Bloodline coming to an end and the Crystal disappearing and all that).

It's never been explicitly stated or hinted at that Ardyn wanted to die right? Unless I missed something.

I mean I came to the conclusion that he did because his existence seemed incredibly lonely from my perspective, and because of Noctis's sad tone when he said Ardyn had been alive for a very long time with no one to share his life with when looking at the Eos painting before the final battle.

When I thought about it, I just thought the guy most likely just wants peace even though the game never explicitly says so.

So that's more me projecting my own thoughts on the matter, and may, or may not, be representative of Ardyn's actual desire.

The guy is still a mystery to me. Hope that hint Tabata said in the latest interview about an Ardyn DLC comes to fruition. I'd pay for that willingly.

The impression that I get from Ardyn is that he doesn't really care whether he lives or dies. He calls his immortality a "curse" (as well as a blessing), but I don't think he's seeking out death on purpose. What he really wants is revenge on the Astrals and the Lucis Caelum line. If he's able to kill Noctis and avert the prophecy, that would be peachy keen for him, even though that'd mean his immortality would never go away. But, conversely, if he's able to kill most of the Astrals and force Noctis to give his life to carry out the prophecy, he'd still be able to take satisfaction in that.

Hence, he sees no real risk in giving Noctis every advantage he can get, especially since winning anyway would make for the sweetest victory of all.

I dunno. I don't actually see him as that complicated, at least not in the present. By the time Noct fights him, he's basically just a daemon of spite. It does sort of seem like there's a separate part of him that definitely doesn't want to die, though (hence the inhuman reaction to Luna retroactively sabotaging him).
