¡¿Do you think they are gonna implement this dlc to the main story (like the expanded Insomnia section of the Royal Pack dlc) or will be like the other episodes, choosing from a side menu?!

Another thing, ¡¿do you think we gonna get another version of the game with all the dlc, including episode Ardyn in it?!

I think those are very important right now.
1) It will likely be via side menu.

2) Unlikely, there's not enough new content post Royal Edition to sustify another bundle.

I could see Square doing a bundle for PS5/ Next gen that includes all the DLC and has the Moogle Carnival. But that's wishful thinking. I think at this point, considering they pulled the plug on any extra content other than Episode Ardyn, FFXV in their eyes is complete. The only reason why we got TERRA WARS and FFXIV Events was because they had already started to work on them near or around the games initial launch (File names, dialogue, models were found in the datamine). And I think the only real reason we are getting Episode Ardyn was because how far along it was. If the situation had happened right after the Royal Edition I don't think we'd be seeing anything. And come to think of it was the Tomb Raider Collab supposed to be an event like Assassin's Creed? I thought it was kind of weird all we got was a Comrades outfit and a Lara photobomb. Then the Comrades delay, which instead of this big patch we are just getting a bosses from the DLC and a few outfits and weapons. Maybe all the signs were there?

If i remember correctly, it was stated that the developers noticed that fans wanted the dlc to be implemented in the main game and we did get the last 2 collaborations inside the game. So my bet is on having it in the narrative.

If the team can get to do one last update, i hope it's the implementation of the dlc inside the game. But i think we may not even get a single update...
Even the voice actors of Noctis and Prompto have posted about how FFXV have come to an end...
Can i have a hug?T_T

Is too soon to start a thread speculating about what “FFXV the zodiac age” will include in 15years on the PS6? ;)
That was the best remaster they've done. Fixing the treasure system and having a job system fix 90% of my complaints. and the 4x speed. Killing Yizamat in 10 mins was glorious. My 2006 self was so pissed at the 4 hours it took.

So I just caught up with all the happenings thus far. Holy crap.. what a complete and utter disaster!

Well... at least the alternate ending drivel is done away with.

What I lament is Luna's character is forever shallow now with no hope of redemption, and no Aranea DLC means no more opportunity at seeing Gralea and Tenebrae.

The trailer for episode Ardyn looks good though, even if it looks a bit low budget in some parts, but that's understandable knowing what we know now.

Square Enix upper management is so extremely fucked up, they should be embarrassed of themselves. Just when you thought Square couldn't get any worse, and lose fans trust even more, they pull this. What a shitshow anniversary.

For what its worth, at least Tabata is now free from that fucking mess of a company. It's probably a massive weight off of his shoulders escaping from that place. Square seems like a nightmare to work with.

Yeah, I'm relieved that Ardyn's DLC survived, but I wanted Aranea's DLC as well, such a freaking slap to the face... As for Tabata, I hope he's doing well after he left... I feel really bad that this happened...

Edit:

Also, poor Maku... He was looking forward to Aranea's DLC as well...:

I did some lurking around on other websites and man, some people can be so fucking nasty. Celebrating FFXV and Tabata's downfall.

I may not have always agreed with his decisions that led to the game being what it is today, and the game may have been disappointing on a certain level, but I never wished him ill.

Yeah I really wanted to see more of Tenebrae but... oh well =(

Yeah, I wasn't around last night to watch the ATR, I only found out about what happened when I woke up briefly around 4 AM or so and decided to take a peek, and saw that Arenea and the other two DLCs besides Ardyn's were cancelled and found out Tabata resigned... I was barely able to sleep to my usual wake up time of 5 AM, and I was mumbling in my sleep sometimes after I found out at certain points in my sleep... That's how bad it felt... I really was looking forward to Aranea's DLC for her and the Niflheim Empire's downfall, and potentially Gralea even if the DLC wasn't integrated into the main game... Only for the higher ups from Square Enix to take that away....

For the 10 new Comrades bosses, assuming those featured in silhouette at PAX East made it in along with what we know from the trailer there should be:

1. Rogue
2. Fierce
3. Mystic
4. Omega
5. Melusine
6. Gilgamesh
7. Cerberus
8. Barbarus
9. Adamantoise
and 10. Yosuke Matsuda

I'm sure some people will be especially satisfied to beat #10, in light of recent news! ;)

After giving this more thought, the most disappointing thing to learn from all this news is that upper management haven't learnt anything from their past mistakes all the way back from Final Fantasy XII's tumultuous development cycle. Meaning they're doomed to repeat them just as they are right now. I wouldn't be surprised to see CyGames or Monolith Soft become the new leaders of the JRPG market at this going rate. In the hands of the current regime, it's clear that Final Fantasy will not be what it once was.

both square and tabata screwed up, altho square more so, why in hell would they want LP back to their hq barely months after opening it ? it doesn't make any sense, and why tabata didnt suck it up and just accepted one of square solutions as messed up as they are ? it feel like he just let down all of his team who have worked hard all this years to fix that mess

i can imagine from his point of view that would mean some kind of major failure point in his career after being given total control of a new studio in such short amount of time, but whats worse, this or leaving your team ?

it also show square lack of confidence in tabata plans and the way he was managing LP, ther's no way 33$m loss were just due to the dlcs, there were probably prototypes for next gen games in there

we know square want to bank on the gaas shit as fast as they can wich for them meant canceling XV dlcs since only LP team is capable of making that, maybe tabata didnt want to cancel XV dlcs and be thrown to the fans again after all the versus shake ups and have his next gen game changed/canceled

Final Fantasy XIV is doing incredible right now. Final Fantasy is in a great place, it's just that XV was never going to live up to what it should have been because of the development hell.

The development cycles generally have gotten crazy. FFXII took 6 years, FFXIII took 5, FFXV took 5 (Going by when it was in full production, not concept), and FFVII is likely close to being 6 if it's released by 2020. I really think it did stem from Sakaguchi leaving and then being partnered with Enix. The beginning of the end started with X-2.

The impression I get is that Squenix did a cost-benefit analysis on LumiPro's projects and decided that it didn't actually make sense to use LumiPro for anything other than AAA development. Not to mention, it's not implausible that Squenix had a particular AAA project in mind that conflicted with what Tabby wanted to make. Remember, Tabby didn't want to make another Final Fantasy game. If Squenix decided to use LumiPro to develop FFXVI for the current gen, he might have decided to pursue his dream project elsewhere.

Ugh I just got home...I spent a few last days at my friend's place, she is also a big ff xv fan and we had so many hopes...when we woke up and got the news about the stream it was like a hard, bitch slap on the face. wtf square...thanks for promising much and giving nothing again :/ what is this aa title that they are doing so they had to abandon ff xv? ff vii remake? ff xvi? im going to be happy if they could release some screenshots (surely they had something done already), story or arts about rest of the episodes. or maybe small book like "parting ways"? that sure would cost them almost nothing but would give us "something". now i really want sylva to tell us what he dig :/ :(
episode ardyn looks cool tho, but im afraid that they showed best things in the trailer. is it going to be only 2 hours long? how is he fighting regis if regis reacted like nothing happened in kingsglaive? eh. i also have this feeling that ardyn will have something to do with noctis' mother death or his accident when he was small. that was only touched a bit in the game and surely looks like could be developed. the brother somnus...don't know if it was necessary. i just doesn't like that his name is same as the song we got since 2006, and the song seems far too important for him T _ T
i really don't like waiting for games. why does it take so long ... can't they just...make them -_- i have a ugly feeling that we will be getting another 10 years of vii remake and no xvi aaaaa -_________-

yeah thats what i though too, the problem must have been the " next gen thing ", the dlc cancellation are just a causality of that disagreement, its kind of a clear hint to FFXVI, nomura and kitase are on 7r, dq team doing dq stuff, that leave only LP as a candidate

gotta wonder why square doesnt take all their team and make them work on a single big project, instead they have medium sized ( by today standards ) teams trying to tackle big projects, like rockstar do

At least it's not a Kojima situation. They seemed to have (officially at least) parted on cordial terms.
