Didn't Square Enix said they will develop their future games for both PS4 and for PS5 only cross-gen games?

If so, part 2 will nothing be better technically than part 1, yeah it looks amazing, but thoese limitations. And that's bad, because they NEED to take the advantage of the next-gen technology.
They really do, because theres a whole world map to cover..

That and HDD limitations have become really pronounced the further we've progressed this current gen for AAA games.

SSD being a baseline standard for next gen consoles massively elevates a lot of streaming issues for assets, etc while creating newer potential scenarios for gameplay. Really hoping SE's cross-gen plans don't include FFVII:R.

Well, FFVII Remake-2 can be a PS4 game. Just do its world a lot of big shunks of space united with each other, like Dragon Quest XI. And let the Tiny Bronco/Highwind be like how you explore the world in DQXI/DQVIII when you're flying (also is a very powerful nostalgic trick).

ill wait until it has +100 reviews before celebrating though, personally I think the game could have been better structurally and story-wise based on what I've watched.
I'm a bit worried because I've been hearing that some of the story additions seem to add unnecessary complications to the plot. Nomura better keep his boner for convoluted twists and mindfucks in check because I don't want the story devolving into a sloppy mess like it did in Kingdom Hearts. Cloud better not be traveling between world lines or some shit by the next part.

With a 108M PS4 base I doubt SE wouldnt make part 2 of the Remake cross-gen, if so it would seem like ignoring a massive source of revenue.
Ok, but part 2 will be out in 2022 if we're lucky.
So by that time the PS5 will already 2 years old with ca. 30M players.
I think that is not that bad. I would choose the power of PS5 instead of the bigger player base of PS4 with a weaker technology

I never said PS4 only, what I try to said is that doing stuff like that, the game could it be possible on PS4. The part 2 perfectly could it a be cross-gen game. MGS V GZ and MGS V TPP were cross-gen titles.

Agreed, it's too early. Neat opening though.

Oof. Well then....wonder if it was either engine limitations or an optimization snag. Or probably disc space related like Ikkin suggested.
I suggested disc space before realizing it looked like they used N64 textures. ;) At this point, I'm absolutely convinced it's a texture streaming problem.

yeah but the gap of technology might be wider this time, if I understood it right, meaning that cross-gen titles would have to be limited to work on both platforms.
