Is there no possible way to unlearn a spell, or are you just stuck with your choice? Final fantasy I

Hello, if you are playing the NES version you cannot unlearn a spell. But in all other versions you should be able too, In the main menu, select the magic sub-menu and select the character you want to look at. There should be an option that says drop or forget. Select that, and select the spell you want and forget it.
