Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings, a real-time tactical role-playing game developed by Think & Feel and published by Square Enix for the Nintendo DS, is a sequel to the best-selling 2006 PlayStation 2 game Final Fantasy XII. It was released in Japan on April 26, 2007 and is now eight years old.
Directed and written by the legendary Motomu Toriyama while he was also directing and designing the scenario for Final Fantasy XIII. With art direction by Toshitaka Matsuda, the lead art designer of Lightning Returns and now art director for Mobius Final Fantasy and character illustrations by Ryoma Ito, known for his work on the Final Fantasy Tactics spin-offs while the art was supervised by Isamu Kamikokuryo, the art director of the Final Fantasy XIII trilogy and now world art director for Final Fantasy XV. The music was composed by Hitoshi Sakimoto and Kenichiro Fukui who both worked on Final Fantasy XII and have both since worked on other Square Enix projects.
The game sold over one million copies worldwide in just over one year. It also received plenty of praise, in particular for it's story.
